Perez beats Ellision 235-200 on 2nd ballot.
I know the CW around here was for Ellison, but Perez is a better choice if you're a Republican because the fired up portion of the Dems were for Ellison. This will de-inflate them and they will become less engaged.

I was all for Ellison, until I realized that we really still need to worry about the GOP. If they took Ellison, the RINO’s could sit back and be DEM-lite, and think they’re doing well by inviting in the Dam voters who cannot stand by their party continuing to go extreme Left. The Dems need to moderate so that the GOP will continue moving towards Limited Government.
Looks like the fix was in all along against Ellison.

Ideologically Perez and Ellison are very, very similar.
However, one of them has spent a great deal of time winning elections and running campaigns in the midwest, and the other has spent his entire professional career as a bureaucrat inside the DC Beltway, never venturing further than Montgomery County.
Hope I’m wrong about Perez, but this seems like a missed opportunity.
I knew that when the South Bend mayor pulled out it was extortion forcing his moderate block to vote for Perez, El Creepo. Rigged for a Hillary redux in 2020, should she live so long. Don’t think that Labor is going to come back just because he’s DNC chair and the black voting block will get the shaft once again. Guess they are betting on a surge in Latinos. Btw, he’s no lady-killer, either.
I agree with them about one thing. The Democratic Party is rigged and any chance for a Progressive to win anything is nil. How THE HECK was Brazille still in charge of anything, after she delivered pilfered questions to hillary before the debate?
I honestly don't know how the Sanders faction can stay in the Democratic Party, if they have even an ounce of integrity. (lovin' it)

Perhaps, but Ellison is so radical and incompetent that he would have done untold amounts of damage to the party as its leader.
Why the last minute change to paper ballots with the voter’s name attached?
Did they originally plan to vote by secret ballot? Does anybody know? That could have spelled the difference.
Lots of people rationalized correctly: a vote for Ellison was a vote to wake up and see a dead horse’s head in your bed.
