'Minimum Wage Laws Were Meant to Protect White Jobs From Black Workers'

In a fiery speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Breitbart author Sonnie Johnson declared that white supremacy and institutionalized racism are real in America today — but in the Democratic Party.

"What if I told you I actually agree with Black Lives Matter?" Johnson asked a room full of conservatives. "What if I told you that institutionalized racism is real in America? What if I told you it started with a progressive Democrat named Woodrow Wilson, who resegregated both the government and the military? What if I told you it started with a KKK indoctrination video in the White House?"

But Johnson didn't just talk about President Woodrow Wilson (1913 to 1921). She also attacked President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1933 to 1945). And what policies did FDR support? Funny you should ask.

"Minimum wages were meant to protect white jobs from black workers, through unionization," Johnson declared. FDR's policies affected "newly freed slaves off the plantation who turned themselves into entrepreneurs and business makers," but the liberal president's "excessive taxation and regulation crushed these businesses." But it gets worse.

"What if I told you that FDR said 'ok, we'll have a jobs plan, we'll create a highway system, and we're going to run it straight through productive black neighborhoods. We're going to destroy their housing, we're going to destroy their economic centers, but we can give them welfare to back it up'?" the black conservative woman declared.

"What if I told you that white supremacy is real in America, and it came with the very first gun laws that said black people had no right to protect themselves from the KKK?" Johnson asked, and the crowd started jittering with excitement. "What if I told you white supremacy was real in the form of Planned Parenthood that said the best thing you can do is kill your baby?"

At this, the crowd burst into applause. Johnson had really struck a nerve — and many of her attacks on liberal policies do indeed have their roots in history. But she didn't just talk about history.

Today, the Dems would reverse that situation through gun control. Make it hard for the law abiding--black or white, but mostly white--to protect themselves from gun-bearing criminals, more often than not, non-white.

The majority of blacks are still on THE PLANTATION and think they’re being freed by the dhimmicrats. Sad.

Margaret Sanger, a heroine of Hillary Clinton and leftist white feminist females everywhere. It was all about keeping the population of blacks down, and it still is.

The Democrat Party was built on racism and keeping blacks "on the plantation." Anyone who studies its history knows this.

Isn’t this Black History Month?
Strange how these very important facts and truths are not being taught in schools/colleges/homes/etc.
Knowledge vs ignorance. Of course, education and knowledge isn’t the same thing. Our colleges are proof of that. We have to get more of our folks into education and the judiciary.

Minimum wage laws in one form The Davis Bacon Act. An attempt to prevent black contractors from the south from underbidding Union jobs in the North.

Agreed.

The Dems have progressed from enslaving to simply exploiting blacks.

The electronic tethers of EBT, Section 8 and all of the others are less visible than leg irons, but vastly more effective.

It’s true what you say about Sanger and the democrats as well as the rest of the world elites. I wish someone would do a study I on what the black population would be had abortion not been made legal. Then pro Lifer’s could shout it from the rooftops.

Sonny is great. Love reading her pieces.
Milo was also a great asset to Breitbart.

Both have a conservatice message that reaches new audiences.

In business and life, you never know where a new, good idea will come from.

The Davis Bacon Act was to prevent the lowering of wages on the WPA projects in the 1930’s.
It stabilized wage rates in the construction trades to prevent unrealisticly low wages being offered for the employees.
Contractors and Labor were desperate for work, this prevented unrealistic bidding and additional mayhem.

The Davis Bacon Act is one of many possibly well-intention laws that has outlived whatever usefulness it may have originally had and now has many unintended adverse consequences. Today, the Davis-Bacon Act has no purpose except to prop up union wages and membership in federal contractors.
