“Taking a construction job away from a citizen” implies that there was a US citizen working that got fired and replaced by this guy. As someone who has been in construction for forty years, I can tell you that is not true. Our nation has a skilled labor shortage as it is, and if you remove immigrant construction workers from the labor pool you will see a market collapse and skyrocketing prices in housing and many other sectors of the economy. This notion that there are plenty of Americans who are willing to take these jobs if only they were paid enough is a myth. Many of these jobs pay $60,000 to $100,000 a year and companies can’t find any applicants that can pass the background checks and drug tests that they require. Our country lacks willing workers, but our cup overflows with young Americans who can’t pass a drug test or a criminal background check.

If this guy was checking in like he was ordered to, we are focusing on the wrong “criminals”. When we have violent felon illegals committing crimes and we spend our attention deporting guys who self report to a required meeting, we will start losing public support for Trump’s policies.

These sob stories annoy me because I don’t know the government’s position. Was he a ‘perfect’ (illegal) alien, one of Trump’s ‘really great ones’, or might he have some drug dealings and killings in his past? Or, more likely, something in between.

We only hear one side...so to me, POTENTIALLY fake news.

Deport Mr. Escobar and any other illegal family members. Then identify his construction employer(s) and punish if laws were broken.

What about the business that employed him? Are they paying their withholding taxes? Are their tax and business affairs in order?

I doubt it.

Who paid the maternity bills? One slightly premature baby can cost the taxpayers hundreds of thousands. A very premature baby will cost millions.

Then hire a non-citizen who is in the country LEGALLY! No E’fn way I will support illegal aliens for any job here at any time. They are here illegally and are being rewarded for it.

And I don’t buy your explanation simply because you were in the construction industry. Furthermore your assertion that there are jobs worth $60,000 to $100,000 that NO AMERICAN CITIZEN WILL TAKE IS JUST HORSESH!T.

Certainly! There all kinds of entitlements that he and his family has taken advantage of. Unless his wife was a brain surgeon or something, a family on his wages as a laborer were probably largely funded by taxpayer largess.

I’m sick of these sob stories that only serve to aid whoever in an agenda to increase the Democrat voter base.

If someone is here illegally, why do we have to tie up the courts at all? Just get them out.

ICE sent the following statement Thursday afternoon.

“On Feb. 22, Jose Ernesto Escobar, 31, was arrested at the Houston ICE office when he reported
on an order of supervision. An immigration judge ordered Escobar removed from the United States
in 2006, but instead of departing the country, he became an immigration fugitive. ICE re-arrested
him in 2011, and he entered ICE custody. Mr. Escobar failed to comply with his removal order, and
in January 2012, the Houston ICE field office director exercised prosecutorial discretion and
released Mr. Escobar on an order of supervision so he could get his affairs in order prior
to his removal to El Salvador. At this time, Mr. Escobar will be processed for removal from
the United States.”

He had an outstanding Vamoose Order. Close enough.

“...he was in good standing with immigration authorities as long as he appeared for an annual review.”

WHAT? What the hell does that mean? It means that he is a damn liar. Get him the hell out of here! Now, we will still be feeding his family with our tax dollars forever.

You pay $100k a year to illegal day laborers? I don't think I'll be investing in your business. Sounds like the wrong guy is in charge.

You didn’t read the part about when he became “an immigration fugitive” then, did you?

He’s got to go back. To prevent his family from being split up, he should take them with him.
