It genuinely disgusts me how many allegedly conservative Christians practically and sometimes literally worshipped George W. Bush. Free Republic had its own special thread, dedicated to the worship of him and everything he touched.

Back in the day, Bush was nearly worshipped on Free Republic. Anyone who spoke against him quickly got banned. But some folks clearly saw him for what he was. Under qualified for the job and an easily manipulated tool of the liberal Republican establishment.
