Cruz: Congress should use 'all authority' to rein in activist judges
Conservative Review ^ | 02/23/2017 | Nate Madden

Congress should use every tool at its disposal to rein in activist federal courts, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas (A, 97%) said in a closed-door meeting with reporters at the 2017 Conservative Political Action Conference Thursday. And this includes limiting their jurisdiction with federal legislation, Cruz stated.

Don't Miss A Tweet Profile Picture Conservative Review @CR Follow In the last congressional session, Sen. Cruz introduced a bill that would have limited the jurisdiction of federal court on marriage. When asked about similar legislation, the senator reiterated his unapologetically bold thoughts on the subject of judicial overreach.

“We should be using all legislative and constitutional authority to rein in the abuses [of activist courts],” Sen. Cruz said.

There continues to be those who beat up Cruz for past behavior; however, he still wields power, and should not be lambasted for the past—just kept on a short leash until we know for sure who he really is at this point in time.

And judicial defiance of the limitations should be made a criminal offense, sufficient for impeachment.

Ted might just move out of his “self-exiie” if he were to take on this issue. He’s a smart Constitutional Lawyer so I imagine he has the necessary legal training to figure out how to remove errant judges.

Congress does need to limit the jurisdiction of courts with federal legislation.

Would this include activist judges who allowed the Kenyanesian Usurpation and the potential Cubanadian Usurpation?

If you are a Conservative, and I suspect you are one because you are here, you know the importance of the November 2016 election. Ted didn’t.

He was still attached at the hip with the NeverTrump movement.

Here’s a man on November 5th, 2016, three days before the election, who refused to say Trump’s name at the first event he attended, supposedly to support Trump.

Up until November 5th, he was still tossing out bones to NeverTrumpers.

I don’t know how any Conservative can read what I wrote here and elsewhere and ever support Tead Curz for anything.

He was willing to let the nation go, so he could have a chance in 2020.

He was mindbogglingly absent without leave.

Not until he figures out that natural born citizen does not include those born in foreign countries to foreign national fathers.

Ted is being useful here; that is a good thing.

...that said, I’m getting fed up with the lack of info on what is going on with tax cuts and 0bamacare. If Ryan, McConnell, McCain, et al, are causing the delay, which I am 99% sure of...and perhaps 1% is Reince, then Trump needs to call them out. I am not at the point of believing Trump is the problem.

Sure, Cruz should have boarded the Trump train at the convention; but Trump has to bear his share of the blame for what happened earlier.

He is the only intelligent person in congress at present.

We need to keep you on a leash on another planet; your trolling is radioactive.

What your comment reveals, is that you think there was a justifiable reason why Ted could have taken a pass at the convention.

Sure you state ‘he should have’, but then you give him an out. Why?

Is it your opinion that some insults hurled by both sides, trumps having to make sure Clinton was not elected?

There are no excuses big enough to justify what Ted pulled, insults or not.

Our nation vs Ted’s hurt feelings?

I’m thinking our nation, the lives of close to 330 million people trump one guy with a grudge.
