....Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho said students in the district do not need to be worried. On social media, the superintendent pointed out that the district had gender identification protections in place before the Obama administration’s directive and they would remain in place under the Trump administration’s retraction of it.

“Protections”...no. It’s SPECIAL TREATMENT.
‘Gender identity’ as defined by its practitioners and defenders consists merely of thought. It is a caprice that can be changed, changed back and changed again at any time for any reason.
Again, this is what THEY tell us.
How, then, can any government or private entity ‘protect’ such a fleeting, arbitrary abstraction? How can they even keep track of it? Ask every student every morning at the door if they are boy or girl that day? Ask them again at lunch? At the end of the day? Do it all again the next morning?
The problem with this smug fainting-couch virtue signaling is that the very causes they claim to support fall apart under the most basic logical questions.
Female students do
It’s very revealing and shameful when you can assume moral values and political affiliation according to a zip code.

My understanding was that the federal guidelines had previously FORCED schools to do this. Now with the guidelines removed, the schools/states can do what they want. I see nothing technically wrong here.

Isn’t that special. Now that they’ve gotten all the AtTeNtIoN they can out of a free pass to pee all over the girls’ toilet seats, what’s next?
What I find particularly ironic: the same people demanding we kowtow to whatever they “feel like” minute-by-minute are the same ones who demand “safe spaces” ... well, the only long-established all-cultures “safe space” are public bathrooms - which are the first places where those people want to tear down social safety barriers from.
just like the repeal of ‘don’t ask don’t tell’ when rapes and crimes against women and girls in female bathrooms increases- the media will hide it- in the military gay rapes skyrocketed upon repeal of don’t aks don’t tell- thousand more men’s lives are ruined for life because our military thought it was more important to protect the delicate feelings of homosexuals than it was to protect straight men and women from rape - now counties like broward feel it’s more important to protect the delicate feelings of mentally sick individuals at the expense of more than 99% of the rest of the country-
These bills do NOT just open women’s bathrooms up to mentally sick men who think they are women, but it ALSO now opens up women’s bathrooms, showers, dressing rooms to ANY male pervert who now can not be legally prevented from using women’s bathrooms-
In Massachusetts, they passed a law protecting KNOWN SEXUAL FELONS from being ‘discriminated against’ by being prevented from using women’s bathrooms- how freakin sick is that? And that WILL be coming to states around the country as the disease of liberalism takes root all across the nation -
A restroom or locker room is the perfect place for a gang rape. No cameras. Can be locked so no witnesses. Remind us again just who these school adminiatrators are protecting.
Gender id protection is not the concern.
Being the “champion” of those convinced they are marginalized is.
Admittedly, it’s something of a ‘garden path’ scenario when attempting to make sense of leftism because they present an issue that really isn’t an issue but because it may look like an issue we discuss the issue.
The aim at the top is power (Obama, Lynch, schools brainwashing kids) - the aim at the bottom is self-regard especially among those who have zero actual achievement.
Translation property taxes going to schools are too high.
These school districts have too much money to pay for administrators, political correctness thought fascists, and communist based social de-engineering.
Cut their administration by 1/2 immediately.
and deny privacy rights to the girls - shame!!
