I recall when I was in college in the mountains of WNC there was only one Mexican Restaurant which was run by an American family within 60 miles to the east, 100 miles to the west, and 50 miles to the north and south.

Today they are like garden weeds.

The local flea market here has a collection of ramshackle buildings the size of a two city blocks that are occupied by Mexican businesses.

Should ICE show up on a Saturday the pandemonium would be epic.

We stayed at Kierland villas in Scottsdale during Christmas. Complained to Starwood management again about no Christmas music and the fact that most of their housekeeping employees speak NO English at all.

We used to go to Manzanillo all the time way before our invasion got so serious. As you’re driving along the main road on the way into town on the left there is a community built up into the hills. Very colorful. lol It’s actually a pretty sight in the bright sunshine.
Instead of renting a car which we usually did we hired a driver and paid him $100 to stick with us all week. We gave him $50 up front and the next day he showed up with bright blue and yellow paint all over his arms. We laughed and said...painting your house? Si!
