Lol. I used to teach ESL for adults at a community college. I usually had around 25 students in my class.

LOL, I imagine it probably went something like the class in "Stripes"...

Russell Ziskey: Okay, I know you're anxious to jump right in and start speaking English, but there's a couple of things I need to know first, because I've never done this before. So, how many of you would say you speak English fairly well, but with some difficulties?
[pause]
Russell Ziskey: A little English?
[a man raises his hand]
Russell Ziskey: Yes? You speak some English?
Man: Son of b____ S___.
Class: [in unison] Son of b____. S___.

Mr. Rodriguez, who was brought to New York when he was 13 and has temporary protection from deportation under an Obama-era program called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA
*********************************

DACA must be ended.
The rule of law must be restored.
If Trump does not end Obama’s illegal DACA program it becomes Trump’s illegal DACA program.
It is operating as if it were law when Obama made it up out of whole cloth.

Illegals have always lived off rumors. After they killed several people locally(automobile accidents), there was a rumor of a round up that sent people underground.

People from other countries assume America is just like their home country.

I just canceled my trip to the Yucatan for my 50th bday. Really wanted to go. Maybe in 10 years I’ll try again.

he thought undocumented residents were saving their money in case they were detained. They may also be reluctant to leave the house for fear of immigration agents stalking outside.

"Undocumented"? Bullcrap. ILLEGAL!

And if they don't want to fear being arrested and deported they can haul their sorry carcasses back to Old Meh-hee-co themselves.

There is a huge Walmart in Oxnard, Ca that I refuse to go to because everytime I’ve been you can’t walk through it because of the hundreds of Mexicans. Maybe it will become shoppable again. ;)

She isn’t protected by DACA, is she? Send her back

That was my thought. She is fair game.

Do you like Belize? Was there once, before they bulldozed the archaeology, quite the third world experience, and contrast. Got a kick out of seeing guards with sub-machine guns outside the Western Union office, see commercials at home telling me I should retire there, but really haven’t had the desire to go back.

I have been to Belize twice, the last time in May 2016, and thoroughly enjoyed it both times, although yes, it is quite third-worldish. The scenery is spectacular and largely unspoiled. I hadn't heard about the 'bulldozed archaeology', however. Did you happen to see the TV miniseries 'Mad Dogs'? Just remember not to carry around large sums of money.

One of the things I hate about living in the southwest is that everyone expects you to choke down “Mexican food” 24/7/365.

My first cab ride out of the airport in Denver, I asked my (Mexican) driver what would a good restaurant be for Colorado food. He started listing nothing but one Mexican restaurant after another. No assimilation whatsoever.

DACA “kids” will turn into activists against Trump and Republicans. End it now, before it’s too late.

“Selling tamales in parking lots out of coolers”. That line really hit a chord with me and made me laugh. Here in California...happens a lot! I never buy them from strangers...don’t know the sellers, what’s in ‘em, and don’t know the sanitary conditions of the kitchen where they are made. I do buy them from friends, and beats the restaurants hands down.

In Phoenix I used to order to-go from an upscale Mexican restaurant for lunch every so often. One day a UPS guy passed my desk, saw the to-go bag with the name of the restaurant logo on it. He said if I could see what he has seen in that place, I’d never order a lunch from them again. Things that make a person go hmmm......and change our lunchtime habits.

“undocumented”

Yeah, it cracks me up too. It’s a ludicrous euphemism but they continue to insist on using it, even if it flies in the face of the truth.
It’s like saying, “All this poor fellow needed was a few simple pieces of paper: a bank account with a few thousand dollars, to avoid being an undocumented bank robber persecuted by the authorities.”
Germans get a kick out of our love of euphemisms to hide hard truths. Aliens who snuck into the US are criminals who have broken our laws.

Like the guy who established that the woman sitting next to him at dinner would sleep with him for a hundred bucks, but not for twenty, we’ve established what they are:
all we’re doing now is haggling over arrest, charges and penalties.
