On January 20th, the day of the Trump Inauguration, the US Debt stood at $19,947 billion. On February 21st, a month later, the US Debt load stood at $19,935 billion. Trump cut the US Debt burden by $12 billion and 0.1% in his first month in office!

Yes this is an entertaining sub-discussion. It reminds me of global warming discussions about the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. An essential trace gas that all life on the planet is dependent on and makes up approximately 400 millionths of the atmosphere is suppose to be controlling the climate. 400 millionths can be stated in many ways. 4 ten thousandths, 40 hundred thousandths, 1 twenty five hundredth, 1 in 2500, 0.04%. There is no "correct" way to state it.
Most people are not able to fully comprehend the meaning of very large or very small numbers. The reference points are so far out of whack. So as outlined in the book you mention the propagandists choose whatever number they feel will be most effective at swaying people. There really is no correct way. With “climate change” they choose 400 millionths because people can grasp what 400 means and the “millionths” which should make it seem inconsequential gets ignored because a millionth of anything is almost meaningless to our minds.

The amount of the federal deficit has been reduced by .1%, and the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is .04%. President Trump has reduced the federal deficit by 25 times the amount of CO2 found in the atmosphere.
After that if he can increase it 5% a month for another 4 years, the debt will be completely paid off.

Not to the liberal mind psychologically speaking. 400 has some significance in comparison to say... their monthly welfare check. But millionth, billionth, or million, billion or trillion has no meaning that they can relate to at all.
In another month, he will have saved enough to fund the Wall. After that, hundreds of billions saved for not having to support illegals and effects of illegal drugs.

It is just as silly to refer to the national debt in terms of billions of dollars. We left the billion dollar range and entered the trillion dollar range a very long time ago. Have you ever heard of anyone, for example, referring to the debt as almost “$20 thousand billion”? Of course not. And it was just as silly for the author of this “news” story to write the debt amount, for example, as “$19,947 billion”. It was totally unnecessary and caused confusion. Look at how many FReepers on this thread got tripped up because of that.
