The Washington Post reported late on Wednesday afternoon that President Trump ended one of Obama's most controversial and liberal policies: federal protections for transgender bathrooms in schools.

The move is a significant victory for America as a whole as polls showed that two-thirds of the country strongly opposed Obama's radical transgender bathroom agenda.

A document submitted to the Supreme Court by the Solicitor General's office said that the Obama-era directive issued this past May did not "undergo any formal public process" or explain how the directive was "consistent with the express language of Title IX," the federal law outlawing sex discrimination in education and activities.
"This is an issue best solved at the state and local level," Education Secretary Betsy DeVos said. "Schools, communities, and families can find -- and in many cases have found -- solutions that protect all students."
"Congress, state legislatures, and local governments are in a position to adopt appropriate policies or laws addressing this issue," Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement. "The Department of Justice remains committed to the proper interpretation and enforcement of Title IX and to its protections for all students, including LGBTQ students, from discrimination, bullying, and harassment."
The move is likely to start a domino effect of states getting rid of transgender bathrooms in schools now that the federal government is no longer backing this social engineering program.

Since I often work ten hour days, I do not have the option of avoiding public restrooms. I can avoid public locker rooms if I do not go to the gym, although I do not need to do that since I have yet to see a man in the locker room.
In worrying about the rights of a handful of freaks, the ignore the rights of the vast majority of Americans.
Good, now let’s get rid of Title IX.

Heard this reported on a Philly FM station this morning.
Their take was essentially “Trump has ended Obama’s order, saying he prefers to leave the matter in each state’s hands. Philadelphia schools have vowed to leave the protections in place, despite Trump’s order.”
So much wrong with the above reporting, but the intended message is clear. Trump is trying to hurt our kids, but Philly won’t let him.
In truth, doing away with this stupid mandate actually protects our kids. The station was just vague enough to bash Trump without discussing facts.
This should be a matter for the states.
Empathy is fine, when dealing with a young person suffering from transgender identity syndrome.
However, in schools they should not place ANY children in uncomfortable positions. On request, a “transgender” child should be provided a separate room for their restroom, changing and showering, such as a not-in-use room that would otherwise be used by the education staff.
Offices and shopping locales need only provide unisex single use restrooms. That is the only kind they need when they have only two single use restrooms to begin with. When they have only large multi-customer-use single-gender restrooms at the moment, the could, by their own choice - not as a legal mandate - add one or two unisex single-use restrooms for anyone seeking extra privacy.
That is as far as empathy for a young person with transgender identity syndrome should go.
Headline will have liberals clutching pearls. Why not say “Trump protects young girls from predatory mentally ill perverts”.
I call it another hand washing political move.
I think Rush once claimed he was a female lesbian in a male body.
