In Orange County, California, dozens of immigrants have signed powers of attorney authorizing relatives and friends to pick up their children from school and access their bank accounts to pay their bills in the event they are arrested by immigration agents. In Philadelphia, immigrants are carrying around wallet-size "Know Your Rights" guides in Spanish and English that explain what to do if they're rounded up. And in New York, 23-year-old Zuleima Dominguez and other members of her Mexican family are careful about answering the door, and get worried and start making phone calls when someone doesn't come home on time.

Come on, guys, it's really hard living like this isn't it? Wouldn't it be SO much easier if you just went back to your own country?

I mentioned this possibility to my wife the other day - the Gold rush mentality of trying to get in on the ground floor before it's too late.
Right now the illegals seem to be rapidly transitioning from denial to bargaining eg "OK, what if I do this? Will this make it better?". However, when reality really begins to set in, there's going to be a mad dash to get back home in order to find adequate housing, possibly secure some kind of menial job, and basically try to be in a better position before the flood begins in earnest.
The other option in play is Canada. Why return to Mexico if you can pull off taking advantage of another sucker willing to cover your expenses? I'm curious if we'll start seeing more news reports of a northern migration thru the US - just like MX does with central Americans passing through.

Interesting concept.
Perhaps if Canada had half a clue, it would help Mexico pay for the wall.

If the illegals all left there would be a lot more affordable housing for poor people. Illegals have completely taken over the poorer neighborhoods here. American citizen poor people should be living there.

Canada is really, really, really, really COLD, and if they think they have a problem with ICE in the U.S., they should stay away from here. There is ICE lurking on nearly street corner up here for months on end.

And if you leave now, before you are deported, you have the option to return legally. Once deported, you may lose that option forever.

I wonder if theyll still be attending soccer games brazenly waving their Mexican flags or wear their Mejico tee shirts when they play the USA here!
