MAQUOKETA, Iowa -- The national trend of Republican lawmakers facing angry crowds of constituents arrived in Iowa today.
Tuesday afternoon Sen. Joni Ernst sat through a 45 minute town hall meeting in Maquoketa. After taking her final question the crowd showered her with boos and chants of "Do your job."

That “emotional crowd” was earning $1500 a day.

Rather, spread out in pairs to make it seem like the whole room opposes the Republican host’s positions. “This will help reinforce the impression of broad consensus.”
Do it as a Skype meeting, allow people to sign in with their name and address. mute the phones and allow questions from people in the district. This way non of the rent a mob types will be seen or heard and the meeting can actually be a productive sharing of ideas.
I hope Senator Ernst has a carrying permit, or has arranged a police escort in case the crowd gets too rowdy.This is a group that believes in using violence to guide or restrict the discussion.
Or require driver license at the door to confirm constituency.

Absolutely!! If they are NOT their constituents they shouldn’t be allowed in.
Do you think Ernst is smart enough to know that those people were shipped in protestors? I doubt it.

These groups are springing up all over. They are targeting Republican Legislators. Find independent voters to attend their meetings to get the lowdown on what they are up to. Keep what you are doing quiet.

How about Republicans coordinate their townhall meetings so that they are all held on the same day and time.

I don’t understand why they’re not already doing this. And hire an off-duty officer experienced in spotting fake IDs, too.
Since when does WHO TV give a rat’s ass about Maquoketa? Back when I lived in Central Iowa, “13” was the most obvious Democrat-controlled station in the market, and you heard about Eastern Iowa practically never. My gut tells me that all the “mainstream” media are an integral and vital part of this astroturf.
Frankly, folks, it is time to start having ID requirements to be in these town halls. If you don’t live in the community or state (for a senator), then you aren’t invited.

when the congress person sets up a town hall announce that admittance will be granted to local voters. Must have voter registration card to enter.

She does have a concealed carry permit and was trained and qualified in the Army. I think I had read where she said she always carries whenever it is legal to do so.
