Are you trying to say there’s no racism in the south?
I am from Stamford and yes.. there are plenty of racists and I hate to say it but this sounds like a case of nimby on the Gold Coast. Don’t want anyone to know that we have anyone who would use the n word in Fairfield County, you know!
I get why they want it up there until the per is caught. Let them take it off. Very sad. And if it is fake... I hope it gets as much attention in the press.

No. But I’m tired of being preached to by northerners who consider themselves morally superior to southerners due to their believe every white in the south is a racist bigot. I have observed northeastern liberal elites profess a commitment to diversity yet never seem to personally invest themselves in the cause. Their children go to exclusive private schools. They don’t volunteer to build Habitat for Humanity houses, they don’t volunteer at the soup kitchen or homeless shelter, they oppose section 8 housing in their neighborhoods. Once in a while they may participate in a march so they can feel good, yet when it comes time to living the talk they are AWOL.

Not to change the subject, but based on the picture in the article, that is one ugly ass house.
There’s more cognitive dissonance going on there than that time Bill Clinton said he was Southern Baptist.
As for the story itself, let’s just say some women will do anything to hold a relationship together...especially when friends and family told her it was a dumb idea to begin with.
Similar to snow removal or cutting weeds, if the homeowner does not address the issue the government will take care of it and bill the property owner.
Bogus , Bogus, Bogus. This crap always turns out to be BS. The problem is, that never gets reported. The only story is the initial lie, the truth never is told and the lie lingers as fact. I hope these fakes are prosecuted to the Nth degree. The town obviously thinks it is BS with the fine imposed

Yes, I agree. Have lived long enough to see that’s almost always true.
If it’s too goading to be true, it probably is.
I am asking for help from knowledgeable FReepers to see if the "Heather Lindsay" who is the subject of this story is the same "Heather Lindsay" who is the plaintiff in this recent court case.
I do not know if this the case and at this point I make no claim nor do I infer any association.
I simply think it would be interesting to find out if they are the same person.

Additional Note:
If you read through the text of that FindLaw summary you will note that the person who is plaintiff in that case states that she has a “common law” spouse named “Lexene Charles”.
Again - I don’t “know” anything, but that surely is a distinctive name.

I did a Google Earth Street View on the address listed for the plaintiff in the FindLaw case summary.
It sure looks an awful lot like the house in the Daily Mail article.
Just change the “i” to an “a.” Problem solved!
Maybe she cannot
pay mortgage and this is a way to screw the banks. There is no way someone would let nuisance fines go up like this. Sounds like overmortgaged rip off North East property
