Trump to exclude U.S. 'dreamer' migrants from crackdown

U.S. President Donald Trump's administration plans to consider almost all illegal immigrants subject to deportation, but will leave protections in place for immigrants known as "dreamers" who entered the country illegally as children, according to official guidelines released on Tuesday.

The Department of Homeland Security guidance to immigration agents is part of a broader plan for border security and immigration enforcement in executive orders that Trump signed on Jan. 25.

Former President Barack Obama issued an executive order in 2012 that protected 750,000 immigrants who had been brought into the United States illegally by their parents. Trump has said the issue is "very difficult" for him.

The Republican president campaigned on a pledge to get tougher on the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States, playing on fears of violent crime while promising to build a wall on the border with Mexico and to stop potential terrorists from entering the country....

Great instincts. Watch the briefing, this is fake and at best very misleading

I hope this is Fake news. The DACAs have to go, right along with those kids that rode the trains up from Central America and then were taken to undisclosed locations in the U.S.

OF course it’s not acceptable, but the Dreamers will not be given the boot. Trump needs the support of Congress to really get anything done. Just the way it is.

Sheesh. Watch the briefing, it’s fake! Stop reading these news articles if you don’t know how to filter. Watch the answer for yourself. It’s closer to the end of the briefing

OK, I read the article and this is the only reference I can find to the headline info:

“U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration plans to consider almost all illegal immigrants subject to deportation, but will leave protections in place for immigrants known as “dreamers” who entered the country illegally as children, according to official guidelines released on Tuesday.”

so...”according to official guidelines...”. But no quote of those guidelines. If may be an assumption made based on the fact that the deportations are “prioritized”. If it actually said what the headline says don’t you think the guideline would have been quoted?

I find the headline unacceptably misleading. The left have been using the deferred action “kids” as the “poster children” for illegal aliens for the last decade, because most American sympathize with someone who was brought here not of their own volition and has known no other home. The GOP would’ve legalized them long ago, but the left held them hostage to the bigger “comprehensive immigration reform” agenda. Trump would be smart to deport the other 10 million illegal aliens first, and then take a look at what to do with this group after the border is secure and the problem mostly solved internally.

How can so many apparently intelligent freepers get another helping of fake news from Reuters of all sources and immediately bail on Trump? Ridiculous! MSM stooges troll this crap out there here come “Trump supporters” taking it hook, line and sinker. Just wait for Trump to speak or act.

This process does need to go in stages and focusing on adult illegal immigrants who have committed crimes is a good place to begin.

Yes, he did say they were prioritizing and criminals first. He also said everyone here illegally is subject to deportation. Guess we will have to wait and see.

I find it unacceptable but I also know you have to eat an elephant one bite at a time.

There are illegals that are felons. They get the express bus tickets.

There are illegals that already have unenforced deportation orders. They get the express bus tickets.

There are illegals that are not dreamers. They travel coach.

There are illegals crossing the borders today. They get express bus tickets.

My next move would be to look at the actions that the "dreamers" have done to become US citizens before today. If they are naturalized, no problem by definition.

If they have green cards they are here legally now, but, did they renounce their mexican citizenship? Are they registered for the draft? Is there evidence they voted in an election?

Violation of any of these and its a bus ticket to Tijuana.

Trump’s doing a great job. Let him knock down the easy stuff first. He’ facing a huge enemy line filled with crooks from both parties.

#2 (End anchor-baby interpretation) is not likely to happen. It would require either a Supreme Court ruling (which I think is unlikely) or a Constitutional Amendment which is even less likely. I suppose Congress could pass a law saying the anchor baby interpretation is void and then add that it is unreviewable by the courts which Congress can do, but to my knowledge never has done.

I have a question...how did dreamers get #SS? Whose identity did they have to steal?... even to go to college you need a SS# which becomes your identification..so where did they get their SS??

Trump should not give them a blank check. Instead, they should earn it. I suspect lot of the street thugs before and after the election are so called “dreamers”. To these people, throw them out immediately.

If they are allowed to stay, their parents should be penalized by jail, fines, or tax surcharge penalties.

Yes, DACA is still in the court system. This, for right now, is a non starter.

**I agree, can you imagine the faux outrage if he ended DACA? The LSM would be passing the smelling salts, fainting couches etc..so would the RINO’s. He’d be facing fire from both sides of the aisle.
Baby steps..start with the low hanging fruit first. We all want DACA ended, wall built and I’m not sure lowering the hammer all at once is the right thing to do here.
