Mike Barnicle, of all people, set the tone for the opening segment of today’s Morning Joe, exclaiming “thank you, Jesus” in response to President Trump’s pick of H.R. McMaster to take over from Michael Flynn as National Security Adviser.
The segment was one belated Valentines Day bouquet of praise of McMaster, coming from members of the panel itself as well as in quotes from a bi-partisan array that included several critics of the president, notably including John McCain.
Perhaps even more significant than the accolades for McMaster was the suggestion that his selection reflected well on President Trump himself.

Thanking Jesus is one thing. . .but in this case was it used in jest. If so. . .it is very troubling and very serious as in taking the Lord’s Name in vain.

In this case, it was a good one. I have followed McMaster’s career since I taught from his book “Dereliction of Duty,” 25 years ago. Victor Davis Hanson told me that whey Bush awarded VDH the medal of freedom and asked him, “What can I do for you?” VDH said “give McMaster another star.”
Libs see McMaster as a rebel and think he will therefore contradict or stand up to Trump. I see it as just the opposite: he’s a rebel the way Steve Bannon is a rebel, and they are all part of the “Rebel Alliance” against the lefty whackjobs.
Thank you, LS. The Left was hoping no one would agree to serve under President Trump. Honestly? God seems to still have His hand on our man and in bringing forth from the throng the right people to support and counsel President Trump.
Joe is totally schizophrenic inside this pattern of his where he mercilessly slanders Trump for a period, or days, and then he reverses and invests a similar block of time praising or defending Trump.
It’s truly called “mixing it up”, but I can’t take the vicious bad days and have cut recording MJ. The Hill, HOR and Senate, unfortunately watch plenty of MJ.

I think McMaster is a great pick. He is a scholar and strategic thinker as well as a fine soldier. The President and the American People should be well served.
