A UVA student recently published a column in the student newspaper in which he insisted upon the eradication of the American family to establish a more equal society.
A society without the typical household structure may decrease inequality, wrote Ryan Gorman in a column titled Phase out the American family in the The Cavalier Daily, an independent student paper at UVA.

Gorman argues that allowing an expansive bureaucracy to raise Americas children will have more pros than cons. Benefits, in his opinion, would include striking disproportionate costs of childrearing on middle and lower class individuals, as well as alleviating hardships like malnutrition.

I bet your mommy and daddy are really proud of you, Ryan....
UVA,! Please eject this “” student.
Ask the foster kids in Los Angeles County how well the government raises them.
The Khmer Rouge did exactly this (often working the parents to death while the commissars raised the children as fanatical young soldiers). That this is even proposed is terrifying, and if I were black in particular I’d be worried; with the free breakfast and afterschool programs, it is very clear that the state views black parents specifically as the worst danger to their children. Those schemes designed to minimize the time black children spend with their parents don’t even exist for/are not offered to most non-black parents.
Oh, wonder! How many goodly creatures are there here! How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world,. That has such people in ‘t!......................
Nothing new here. Marx and Engels recommended the same thing in the Manifesto 150 years ago. No doubt this vapid tool thinks he’s suggested something novel and daring, but like most liberals, he’s just copied the failed playbook of previous generations of idiots.
He stands on the shoulders of midgets.
This paper will be revised since Trump is in charge of the government.
The kid should be booted from school for plagiarizing V.I. Lenin.
Napoleon the pig must be his hero.
“A UVA student...”
His/her brain might develop eventually.
Well, I hope so...

I thought the whole idea behind involved, loving parenting was so that your kids didn’t “end up like all the rest.”
The whole idea of enforced equality never appealed to me.
It’s a stupid thought experiment carried out by a college srufdent who is in equal parts ignorant and indoctrinated in socialism. It is published in a student newspaper that will be read and debated by equally ignorant and indoctrinated students. No harm done - college is the time for foolishness.
The danger is when they go out into the world having failed to outgrow these stunted modes of thinking and try to implement this nonsense in real world policy.
We approve!
That article is what we used to call a CLM. A career limiting move.
Be happy they revealed their stupidity early and that they will never become a politician of consequence.
The compulsion to force egalitarian collectivism on humanity lies at the heart of the cancer that is destroying the West. The reality is that no two of us are equal—indeed, no two apples on the same tree! This is the core of the war on reality—people who cannot accept the consequences of being unique.
A Modest Proposal?
Perhaps we can combine with some of Swift’s other utilitarian suggestions.
