Morons. Haven’t built any new reservoir space since the 80’s, while the state population has boomed. In two years we’ll be hearing the whining about a drought again, when the flushed millions of acre feet into the ocean this year.
Haven’t heard the name Modesto, since Gary Condit
It’s at 97% of design capacity now and heavy rain is falling.
Has anyone asked Algore or Schwarzenegger how any of this is possible since they GUARANTEED us never ending Drought because of Runaway Global Warming??
They even name their reservoirs for Mexicans. Try living a day without Mexican-named reservoirs.
This can’t be true. California is in permanent drought due to man made climate change. It’s never gonna rain there again. #SettledScience.
I guarantee this will be blamed on ‘climate change’.
Very funny!
However Gov. Jerry Brown will still say that California is in a drought...
You might want to learn who Don Pedro was. His name was Pierre Sainsevian.
“You might want to learn who Don Pedro was. His name was Pierre Sainsevian.”
A Mexican Frenchman. There could be a lot of humor in that.
A dam has gates. A spillway doesn’t. This contraption called the Don Pedro Reservoir “spillway” appears to have 3 gates. Makes no sense but I’ll play along.
Since this contraption has 3 gates, then why not open just one to let out a moderate amount of water rather than opening all three to send a massive flood downstream? Or is that too logical for the experts. Why didn’t they open one or two gates part way weeks ago so as to prevent flooding from future rains? Ack, there’s that logic again.
Many names are Spanish, from the Spanish influence in California (Spain not Mexico).
Global Warming caused a drought and now a flood.
Curse that Global Warming.
>>Many names are Spanish, from the Spanish influence in California (Spain not Mexico).
On that note, see the short history of Spain / Mexico in the USA on my profile page, which I got from Travis McGee. Towards the bottom IIRC, but just search for Spain.
Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo requires CA to ‘honor’ its Spanish influence. So we conceded Cinqo de Mayo and look how that turned out.
The state spent money on illegals, lavish pension funds, and whatever the liberal agenda wanted. But nothing on infrastructure. Chickens coming home to roost.
Looking at that spill way I wonder how much erosion will happen?
