“Unfortunately, even catching thousands per year won’t even put a dent in the illegal alien population.
************************************************************

Strongly disagree and I do mean strongly.

This round up of illegals along with far stricter border enforcement will send a STRONG message to those thinking of illegally entering the country. Some will be arrested and jailed, then expelled, some will leave on their own and fewer will attempt to enter illegally.”

I agree with you, Billy. If you look at Operation Wetback, which started in June of 1954 (perhaps not so coincidentally the 10th anniversary of D-Day) you will find that Eisenhower sent border patrol personnel on raids from Texas through California. Over a period of about five years, they deported several hundred thousand illegals. However, about 3 million self deported, reducing the illegal population by an estimated 95%.

The simple fact is that when you see other people having great difficulty doing the same thing that you’re trying to do, you switch to plan B. I have no doubt that this is exactly what the Trump Administration wants millions of actual illegals, as well as potential illegals that are thinking of coming here, to do. Plan B consists of making it in their own country, whether it is Mexico, Guatemala, Somalia or wherever. There are plenty of people around the world who want to come here for the right reasons, are already on line, and who can be vetted. Those are, generally speaking, the kinds of immigrants that we want, not those who break our laws by the very fact of setting foot on our soil. Because once they do that, they start breaking more and more laws. Tax laws, insurance laws, voting laws... It simply does not end. All of this puts a huge strain on our resources, and we need to stop it in its tracks.

The Soviet Union was famous for having laws on the books that it didn't enforce universally or consistently until they needed to for a specific purpose, such as getting an individual or a group of individuals into the Gulag. They kept that law in the back pocket, letting everyone break it at will, then enforcing it here and there as needed. Or, as Beria said, "Show me the man and I'll find you the crime."

Isn't this the ultimate purpose of leftist judges who basically ignore the law in order to impose their personal opinions as law? The recent blocking of President Trump's EO is one example, but we have countless examples through the years.

Laws that are not enforced, and enforcement of opinions as if they are law, is the basis of a capricious dictatorship in which no one has rights. I would say that it is a shame that the liberals who cheer the blocking of this EO that is clearly based in established law and the Constitution do not recognize the grave danger to liberty that such judges represent--except that they may be very aware of it and want all laws to be enforced (or not) on that model.

Yes...exactly so. You and I see it the same way, and I am certain that is the correct way to view it.

A capricious dictatorship, indeed.

You have to make them feel “uncomfortable” 24x7x365. The psychological value of each deportation is huge. They will self deport because they can’t sleep at night. I would say 100,000 is enough to cause the stampede out of the USA.

Exactly. Self-deportation. A southbound caravan run for the border!

I want an ICE agent at every welfare/SSA office in the USA.

I want multiple ICE agents and large Jorge Wagon parked outside.

Maybe we could disguise ICE semi trailers as welfare offices and trap them like rats.

And the former POtuS announced to all criminal illegals that they could vote (democrat) with absolutely no fear of retribution because he considered them citizens simply because they ignored our laws to begin with.

The greatest gains in encouraging illegals to go home will come from targeting employers and cutting off welfare.

“Unfortunately, even catching thousands per year won’t even put a dent in the illegal alien population. It’s too bad that fake news story about mobilizing 100,000 troops of the national guard to round up illegal aliens wasn’t true. Without something of that scale, there’s no real hope of sending even half of them back.”

Exactly right, davikkm. With Sessions now at the Justice Dept. and Kelly in place at DHS, they really need to ramp up the deportations. Give the alt-Leftists plenty of reasons for their heads to explode.

The average American commits 3 felonies every day … without even knowing it.

I never even mentioned the other deterrent which is to refuse aid of ANY kind to any illegals, no exceptions.

Once they understand there is ZERO to be gained by sneaking in to our country they won’t bother to try. Of course they cannot be permitted to work and so e-verify must be improved and used with very big fines assessed on employers who violate the law in this regard.

How many illegal immigrants are involved in the underground economy, i.e. tax evaders? Tax evasion is a felony.

Not to mention that driving is illegal for him to do in the state of Texas, where one has to be legal to get that precious driver’s license. So if he was driving his car, or any car, he was breaking the law in that regard as well. I wonder how many other laws he was actually breaking?

Why do they all say, “....he did nothing wrong. Why....” He is here illegally! That is a crime! He has an illegal Social Security number! And who knows what else!

These highly publicized raids and round ups have the effect of forcing many illegals to head for the door on their own. The longer it goes on the more that will self deport.

Arrest ALL illegals, seize their assets, imprison them, deport them. If they return, shoot them.
