Legislators and advocates charged Friday that Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is specifically targeting gun owners for a fee increase that they said is not justified by an increased workload.
Rep. Rob Sampson, a Wolcott Republican, said the proposal represents an unreasonable jump from the current $70 to $300 for a five-year permit renewal and $370 for an initial permit for first-time gun owners, up from the current $140.
"I just don't understand why he would single out this particular group and increase it by an exorbitant amount," Sampson said of the Democratic governor.

Err, my tag line is why. And Malloy really does hate me and my kind. The feeling is mutual.

Malloy is a wacko liberal who used the murder of kids to put restrictions on honest, non_violent people while deliberately leaving guns in the hands of violent criminals.

...an unreasonable jump from the current $70 to $300 for a five-year permit renewal and $370 for an initial permit for first-time gun owners, up from the current $140. That ain't a right, it's a privilege for the well off.

Sad, but true. I love this state. Have grown to hate its oppression of my God given rights.
Moving south, where there seems to be more fiscal responsibility.

And the 3K felons, w/ gun possession felonies, got released by Malloy.
No point in having these laws if they are not enforced, eh?

That, among other reasons, is why I left CT 15 years ago. Best thing I’ve ever done.

High costs of firearm ownership or carry permits should be argued in courts as being no different than a “poll tax” to keep the poor from being able to protect themselves.

CT is stuck with him; he spent the last two years with his head up the @ss of HRC, hoping for some appointment.
But she didn’t win, did she Dan’l? You’ll have to find another job next election. Along with the rest of your radical left wing sycophants.

How is this any different from a poll tax? Would any lawyers care to try to explain?
Why isn’t there a Civil Rights violation case here?
