I don’t recall Ford saying they wouldn’t ever build in Mexico.
The canceled plant was to build Ford Focus.

That was my understanding. The deal was over that one plant and moving production already taking place here there.

We conservatives should not be as reactionary as the leftists. But sometimes that is what happens when we jump on a mainstream media headline as a “fact”.

They will still build cars for the market south of the border which makes sense in not only the economics but also for differing standards such as the hated CAFE standards we are saddled with. Also a prime consideration is the logistics for the Central and South American markets.

For a better example, go to the 3M site and then navigate to whee you are in the world. The world markets are here to stay what was not being addressed is the trade imbalances that allowed the importation of products made less expensively elsewhere back into this country killing local economies.
