Some foreign-born Californians are canceling their Medi-Cal coverage or declining to enroll in the first place, citing fears of a Trump administration crackdown on immigrants.
Among those dropping coverage are people in the country legally but concerned about jeopardizing family members who lack permanent legal status, according to government officials, immigration attorneys and health care advocates.
Others worry they will be penalized in the future for using public benefits such as Medi-Cal, the state’s version of the federal Medicaid program that provides health coverage to low-income residents.

Guess what? Some American citizens are afraid that these programs will not exist for the US citizens they were intended for if we continue to grant them to those who are not entitled to them by virtue of not being citizens.
Medi Cal is California’s version of Medicaid.
Only downside is illegals clogging up ERs with every sniffle since they can’t be turned away.
Given the sanctuary attitude of California and the number of sanctuary cities, I’m tempted to call BS on the whole story.

Among those dropping their newspaper subscriptions are people in their homes legally but are concerned about jeopardizing family members who break into homes and businesses in the night to steal money and merchandise, according to government officials, opportunistic attorneys and breaking-and-entering advocates.

A friend who lived for years in CA described a phenomenon that has become all too common here in NJ: the closing of emergency rooms because of the requirement that they treat illegals. The state reimbursed hospitals for this, but gradually cut the reimbursement rate until the hospitals were bankrupt.
Station a uniformed ICE agent at each Emergency Room.
