Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is cleaning house at the State Department, according to a report.
Staffers in the offices of deputy secretary of state for management and resources as well as counselor were shown the door Thursday, according to CBS News.
Many of those let go were on the building’s seventh floor — top-floor bigs — a symbolically important sign to the rest of the diplomatic corps that their new boss has different priorities than the last one.
This week’s round of firings marks the second time State Department personnel have been cleared out since President Trump took office last month.

Y’all do realize not a single one of these people loses a paycheck? They are gov’t employees. When they get 3 yrs service, they become career. Can’t be fired.
If they were political appointees then of course they were on the way out, regardless.
So this throwing people out of 7th floor stuff, all that means is these people are transferred to some other job, by regulation no more than 50 miles distant, and they work at that new job til retirement.
So don’t think these people are “FIRED”. They aren’t. They are just moved to another position and their present position filled with . . . political appointees.
Don’t these guys have jobs for life?
I hope that Pompeo does the same at the CIA.

Be sure to also investigate those people for possible involvement in the recent spate of leaks.
Not a bloodbath yet.. but it sounds like they've removed the high-level officials from the Obama regime. By doing so, they'll have eliminated the top-cover for the chaff that resides at the lower levels.

Judging by the press spokesmen at state, the organization is basically just a wing of the liberal Dems caucus.
The last corporation I worked for...when they fired someone they showed up at their desk, watched them pack their stuff up, and then walked them to the front door. I hope that is what they did. lol
