HEARTBREAKING VIDEO CAPTURES FALLEN SOLDIER'S HOMECOMING

RALEIGH, N.C. (KTRK) -- They are the sniffles heard around the world.

When Lisa Williams' plane arrived at Raleigh-Durham Airport, passengers were asked to wait to let someone off the plane first.

When she looked out the window, there were several soldiers unloading a flag-draped coffin from the cargo hold. For minutes, the plane remained silent, aside from the sniffles coming from the passengers.

A woman walked over and placed her hand on the casket to say her final goodbyes, and others -- presumably family members -- joined her.

Then, seven Green Beret soldiers dressed in full uniform carried the casket off the plane and loaded it into a black hearse, paying their respects as they marched away.

Eventually, a pilot came on the intercom to thank the passengers for waiting.

Williams shared video of the entire thing on her Facebook page, writing there was not a dry eye around her. Much like it brought them to tears, it has moved millions of others around the world.

Just what are we supposed to doing over there? If we’re not going to destroy these islamist scum then what is the point?

A wife and four children left behind.

Why does it always have to be that way?

Some my disagree but I don’t think it’s appropriate for the plane passenger to have posted this.

I think that the more people see the result, the less likely it is to be repeated...

Warrant Officer 1 Shawn Thomas, of 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group

Thomas and members of his unit are part of a contingent of soldiers, both civil affairs and Special Forces, deployed to central Africa to train local troops and support the local population in countering the spread of terrorist groups.

Some actually see a greater calling and purpose.

When I watch these heartbreaking returns of our fallen warriors, the documentary Taking Chance comes to mind. Gut wrenching. Prayers for their families.

“A wife and four children left behind. Why does it always have to be that way?”

Because people like that understand the importance of sacrificial love at the service of others. Most Liberals on the other hand have no such love, don’t serve others, and most certainly won’t risk their lives in the military to protect others.

On behalf of my fellow Freepers and America, thank you Warrant Officer Shawn Thomas for your sacrifice in defense of your nation and its allies. We honor your service and your memory.

God bless your family, friends and comrades in arms and may He comfort them during this time of grieving for your passing.

You are entitled to your own opinion. However, you may wish to consider the following from the source posting:

“...The post was shared tens of thousands of times, eventually making its way to T.J. Thomas.

Thomas reached out to Williams to thank her for sharing the video because she was the woman seen saying her final goodbyes to her husband, Shawn. ...”

A movie that was released a few years ago called “Taking Chance” deals with this subject in a very touching way.

The United States has not won a war in a very long time. Without winning, what is the point?

Hopefully, Trump may change some things. But we have a very long way to go.
