Can we please move the deluge of Catholic-related articles out of news/activism?

This morning, as has been the case for weeks now, over half of the articles have been about Catholic church inside baseball. While I'm sure that is of interest to some, it merely squeezes out stuff that is more interesting to others. While I appreciate the importance of the topics to a few, let's keep in mind that it is not at all to others. I don't want to start a flame war but the nuances of some Latin-named paper by some unknown cardinal in a village in Germany (just a hyperbolic example) are wholly unimportant to this good old Protestant. There is a specific forum for discussion of religion.

“It’s like you’re my neighbor who blasts his stereo at all hours, then tells me when I complain, “Ehh, don’t listen to it.””

No, it’s not. You can’t help but hear noise. But there is NOTHING that forces you to read Catholic articles that you consider to be “inside baseball”. Just skip over them. Don’t read them. As soon as you see it’s a Catholic topic just skip over it. How hard can that be? I skipped over two or three dozen articles that didn’t interest me this morning to focus on the two or three dozen that did. It takes about one second to see what the title of the article is. So, this entire morning, I lost perhaps 36 seconds in more than two hours of reading. It simply isn’t a problem.

This turkey is cranking right along. Are we tired of Irish moonshine? How could people be tired of Irish moonshine?

You can also view as ‘headers’ and then the comments aren’t shown. If you see action on
a thread that interest you then one can click on it and read. There is no way I want
to see all comments on every thread as I scroll thru FR. Just my way of viewing.

Irish Moonshine makes me think of potatoes. Do they make moonshine out of potatoes?

“the toxic threads where Protestants and Catholics bash each other are sickening. And wicked.”

But they’re bloodless in contrast to most of Western history.

Wheat, oats, rye. The specific distiller liked to flavor it with bogbean, a relative of water lily.

Might be good, might kill you ...

The threads have no point and solve nothing.

The Catholic vs Protestant ones have the same arguments.
Nothing is accomplished and nothing is changed, what’s the point?

How about focusing on George Soros instead?

“the toxic threads where Protestants and Catholics bash each other are sickening. And wicked.”

Actually that’s just not true according to Holy Scriptures, see 1 Peter 3:15.

While I disagree with rcc’s on the method of grace and salvation, but the Holy Scriptures teaches us that we are to preach the gospel to the whole world.

Mark 16:15
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

While you may disagree with the medium or method it’s still not evil to express the gospel according to our beliefs, so long as it is seasoned with salt. Col 4:6

Proverbs 27:17
17 Iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens another.

The Admin Moderator or Religion Moderator can help you.

It’s you who need to change the way you view FR.

All those articles are posted in the religion forum, so there is no reason for you to even see them.

“How about focusing on George Soros instead?”

Because he doesn’t claim to be saved thus God judges him, but any other person that claims to be saved I am obligated to judge them according to the gospel.

1 Corinthians 5:12
For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

If a particular genre among those things ('Catholic threads') were to be on the religion forum, and caucused up (as that saying goes) it would make it harder to play the pin-the-TALE-on-the donkey Pope Francis. Or criticize the perennial enemy, Martin Luther. How dare that one have criticized the Papal System -- which religious system (itself) is not "the Gospel", sorry Bishop Schneider but you couldn't be more wrong.

Bash, bash, bash the donkeys. Say mean things, inside-baseball sportswriter daily grist. Cheer (jeer) and root for your least favorite donkeys to lose the horse-races.

...and I think to myself
what a wonderful world ???
