The Media Is Already Linking Oroville Dam Disaster To Global Warming
Daily Caller ^ | February 15, 2017 | Michael Bastasch

A number of news outlets claim the near collapse of the Oroville dam's emergency spillway in California is a glimpse of what man-made global warming could bring.

"Oroville Is a Warning for California Dams, as Climate Change Adds Stress," the New York Times reported. "Broken California Dam Is a Sign of Emergencies to Come," reads an article published in Scientific American, adding that "[c]limate change is leading to more extreme rainfalls that can overwhelm infrastructure."

California has always had extreme droughts and extreme rains. Before man made dams and then didn’t maintain them.

I agree that the perception probably was that the only people who would be affected by the poor maintainance would be those evil red-state voters between Oroville and the Butte. They paid their taxes, but the teachers pensions, illegals and trains needed it more.

But as the Californian elites are slowly discovering: if Oroville ends up going off-line because of this, then it’s going to be bad for them.

I don’t think there’s going to be a ‘worse case’ un-zipping of the spillway, or a collapse of the emergency spillway.

But just taking this dam down to maintainance levels for a year is going to have a profound effect on water availability in CA.

Algore and his cult preached there would not be any snow in the Sierra Nevadas after 2015. No snow was the groupthink so there was no reason to maintain those useless dams.

There ought to be a law against that. I know, taxes will solve the problem!

Drought = Global Warming/Climate Change.
Flood = Global Warming/Climate Change.

Works every time.

Typical Leftist thinking. When all else fails, blame it on:
  1. Global Warming
  2. George W. Bush
  3. the "Alt-Right", whatever that is
  4. Republicans in general

I would imagine that President Trump will replace the number 2 excuse on this list by Memorial Day.

How about leaking it to the lack of funding caused by the immense - multiple $billions/year - expenditures for illegal aliens in Kali?

Oh, that’s right, the media won’t EVER talk about that.

Let the locals run the schools.

Even if that were so, the majority of "locals" in my area of are brainwashed liberal nut jobs. Nothing would change. And if by some miracle they voted intelligently, the bosses in Sacramento would gerrymander voting districts to get their desired liberal result. We're in a heap of trouble.

They said when the water level was low that it was the fault of global warming.

Now that there was too much.....that is the fault of it too?!

How much “science” do these people supposedly believe in that they think that Earth’s weather is supposed to be some static middle of nothing but predictable conditions?

.
The “Oroville Dam Disaster” is simply the consequences of Democrat rule, and nothing more.

It is the result of Pi$$ poor planning, and knee-jerk panic. (the basic elements of the dem mentality)
.

Have lived here all my life and yes, you are right. This is nothing new for us. It has been magnified because of the increase in population though.

If the dam/spillway goes kaput: God has been very kind to issue a friendly warning.

Destruction of free enterprise=capitalism is what caused the bad maintenance of the dam?

With locals, an organized community could get up front and personal with the goof balls.

Mandates from Sacramento and DC leave us with “no one in change”.

Ironically, when Jerry Moonbeam Brown was CA governor the first time in 1975, Global Cooling was all of the rage...:^)

There are two things, watching westerns as a kid prepared me for. droughts and quicksand and running out of ammo. Then the alarmists started acting like non of this has ever happened before.
