A current U.S. intelligence official tells NPR's Mary Louise Kelly that there is no evidence of criminal wrongdoing in the transcripts of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn's conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, although the official noted that doesn't rule out the possibility of illegal actions.
The official also says that there are recordings as well as transcripts of the calls, and that the transcripts don't suggest Flynn was acting under orders in his conversations.

Flynn didn’t tell Pence the truth about conversation s with Russians, that might be why Pence didn’t like it when he found out Flynn did have conversations with Russians.
That matches what Spicer said at the presser.
Pence want out on a limb saying no conversations between Flynn and Russians had taken place. What’s Pence supposed to think when the truth was Flynn had talked to Russians?
Trump is right, the real problem is all the leaks.
What was the truth?
If he didn’t do anything illegal, what did he lie about?

This is just me questioning the public story. Pence went out publicly and said Flynn didn’t talk about sanctions, and then the spooks who wiretapped the conversation leak that supposedly yes, he did talk about them. Pence supposedly is upset he’s been made out to be a liar and blames Flynn.
Flynn says, I don’t know, I talked about a lot of things... then resigned.
My point is, on the day Obama kicked the Russians out of the US, and Trump is out publicly saying, don’t worry about it, we’ll be in the White House in a couple of weeks... and he has Flynn talking to the Russians, what else would they be talking about?
I’m sure the Russians brought it up, Flynn essentially said “we’ll talk more about that after inauguration, but we want better relations blah-blah-blah”. So, did they discuss sanctions? No. Did the subject come up? Probably, deflected, and Russians allowed to read between the lines.
So who lied? Flynn? Probably not, he had no reason to lie. He did nothing wrong. He is the national security advisor to the president-elect. The spooks who leaked the conversation but refuse to provide a transcript? Probably. And Pence? Strikes me as a bit gutless, refusing to stand by Flynn. And Trump? Wanted to change the subject, but it doesn’t work. You throw the Fishwrap a bone, they only beat the drum for more.
I have no inside knowledge other than what I see. It just doesn’t add up to me.
The problem is that it is Trump vs. the Establishment swamp. This includes the Democrats, Media, AND most of the Republicans (McCain, Graham, etc)...
I'm glad to see that Cruz is standing with Trump against this onslaught.
The Establishment swamp-people will be doing all they can to stop Trump from making the needed changes and improvements.
This is what I have finally come to. He didn't do anything wrong, he was speaking on Trump's behalf saying essentially the same thing Trump is saying. So he has nothing to cover up, and no reason to lie. So maybe he just gave Pence the bare-bones of the conversation, not knowing Pence would jump in front of a camera and start talking about it.
When it turns out Pence misspoke, he throws Flynn under the bus. Flynn takes the bullet like a good soldier. Forced to choose between Pence and Flynn, Trump asks Flynn to bow out.

Good point. Libby was innocent, everyone knew it including the special prosecutor himself, and no one had the nerve to stand up and protect him. Not Bush, not Powell who knew the truth, nobody. He faced the leviathan alone.
There are obvious reasons why that will never happen.

why wouldn’t Flynn be forthright?
This a a B$ cover story. Flynn may have e lied to Pence but that is not the reason he is gone. This is only the beginning if Trump doesn't commit swinging we are in for a long two years.

I have really had it up to here with this BS and those engaging in open hostility to President Trump.
I’m ready for extremely severe consequences to befall them. Every last one of them.
I don’t buy the “lie” line.
My take is that it was a misunderstanding.
Flynn is too experienced in these matters, Pence maybe not so much.
My take is that Flynn perhaps did not want to reveal everything to all people.
Why, I don’t know.
Do we know if Pence said—he goes or I go? Thus putting Trump in a difficult position?
But the dogs are barking at everyone now—except for one person.
Hmmmm, don’t we want national security advisers who have back channel dialogue with the world’s powers?
