Question: I have POA for my sister and she gets 1900/mth in alimony and pays out 2000/mth to live in asst living (she has early onset dementia at 59)...Can I deduct the cost of her monthly asst living cost from her taxes? Please help me if anyone has this answer....Thanks.

That’s a good question. Post as an actual thread and you’ll get the answers.

start with IRS pub 502. I think there may be a way to deduct all expense but you must pass 2 requirements
person has been deemed diminished AND need help with
basic living skills daily.. If you can get that documentation.
