National Security Adviser Michael Flynn is in the hot seat. But the real target is President Trump and his foreign policy. Donald Trump was elected as a change agent by Americans unhappy with the trajectory of the country and with the cozy concord that exists between political adversaries in a Washington where the politicians find more in common with each other than with the American people. Donald Trump ran on a foreign policy platform that explicitly repudiated the disastrous bipartisan consensus of moral imperialism and international busybodyism that has prevailed for the last quarter century and that has cost the country dearly in blood and treasure.
Predictably, the defenders of the old regime are fighting a vicious rearguard action to undermine and discredit President Trump and the policies he represents. It is a shadow war waged with off the record leaks to media sources eager to damage the new administration and to staff the national security infrastructure with individuals hostile to Trumps America First policies.
The allegations against Flynn arising from his conversation with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in late December amount to nothing. But for D.C. insiders, establishment media types, and Progressive Left activists (but I repeat myself) who still have not accepted the reality of a Trump presidency, Flynns communication with Russiansany Russians!represent the apotheosis of the Russian hacking theory they use to explain why the unlikeable and demonstrably corrupt Hillary Clinton lost the election. The narrative goes like this: Trump won the election because of Russian hacking (unproven but accepted as a self-evident truth) therefore any communications with Trump appointees amounts either to payback for the election or an example of nefarious Russian influence on the government.

Exactly.
Yup. Where the hell did McMullin come from anyway?
“I really think some Dems believe if they are successful in overturning election (Trump impeachment/resignation), Hillary Clinton will magically become president.”
Same thing.
I agree and will add that Flynn appears to have been in adoration of his own position and power.
It’s taken more than one COMPETANT person down. A real “tragedy”!
Food for thought. Great question.
Pence has only recently entered my political universe and my in depth knowledge is sorely lacking.
There is more to his story.I thought you might know it.
From what I hear...he wasn’t a standout in lawschool. Not saying he was dumb. Just saying he wasn’t one of the stars from what I hear.
Then he gets hired as general counsel to SOS just two years out of law school...and gets on a political rise.
Just wondered who is backers were way back when.
He may not have scored well but his actions were rewarded. Get hold of the 200+ report on the decertified voting machines.
He got where he is because he did the job that everyone else just whined about.
No, but I think they are quite comfortable with Pence/Ryan.
Read his wiki history to start.
While in congress he was the rebell fighting the GOP establishment from the inside.
His leadership as governor speaks for itself. He even took the heat for an ill advised congress on the much publisized Gay legislation just to keep
It out of the courts and from becoming law.
Lt Col Ralph Peters on Fox interview just now recommended that POTUS pick Lindsey Graham to the Natl Security Advisor position. I kid you not.
I’ve noticed Peters turns out to be a bit of a nut case.
Ralph Peters needs a straitjacket.
Another one I switch off when he comes on.
In 1997 he was general counsel to SOS and Election Division Chief.
He was admitted to practice law in October of 1995 and was in private practice.
My point is...to go from average law student (maybe he graduated top 1/3..don’t know) to getting that position in 1997 had to have come with some connections.
It’s not like he was working at Bakers and Daniels and then was tapped for the position..if you understand what I mean.
Ralph Peters was hysterical raving already before the Flynn incident. He cannot get over Hillary having lost.
It would be Pence and whoever he chose as VP, confirmed by both houses of congress. Ford chose Rockefeller. Might be Ryan, but not automatically.
I can’t believe I actually wrote that.
1ST IT WAS MONICA CROWLEY & NOW FLYNN!!! I'M GETTING PISSED!!!!!
I WANT THE POLITICALLY INCORRECT TRUMP BACK!!! 😡😡😡
NEOCONS.
Early in this race, Donald Trump laid down a marker on foreign policy against the Iraq War and foreign adventurism in general, and a lot of the neocons in Washington didnt like itat all. And still dont like it.

Former Reagan and Bush official Elliott Abrams is deeply upset with White House senior aide Steve Bannon, after he was passed over for a job in Donald Trumps administration.
Abrams was rumored to join the State Department as a deputy to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, but was ultimately rejected.
The only person on the White House staff that I know was opposed to my being hired was Steve Bannon so thats my guess, Abrams told CNNs Erin Burnett in an interview on Monday. Its a guess.
Abrams didnt mention that Sen. Rand Paul was opposed to his appointment, because of his neocon views.
In a country of 300 million people, surely there are reasonable foreign policy experts who have not been convicted of deceiving Congress and actually share the Presidents foreign policy views, Paul wrote in an op-ed.
Abrams also ignored his role in the Iran-Contra scandal under Reagan, pleading guilty to misdemeanors in the scandal. George H.W. Bush pardoned Abrams at the end of his administration. He also didnt mention his dogged support for the war in Iraq, something Trump remains opposed to.
At the end, Abrams had hoped that although he criticized Trump during the election, the president would allow him to join the administration.
Abrams authored an article the Weekly Standard with the headline When you cant stand your candidate, calling for the Never Trump movement to challenge him in the convention. He also described Trump as a candidate was someone who cannot win and should not be president of the United States.
Do not allow the Republican convention to be a coronation wherein Trump and Trumpism are unchallenged, he wrote.
Or maybe in Indiana —General counsel to SOS and Election Division Chief is a lowly position at that time in 1997 and an average student in private practice with no connections could get that job. Not sure what the deal was back then.
Still think you have to have some kind of connection or stellar references.
Peters is unbalanced. He can’t get over Hillary having lost. That con artist had me fooled, there was a time I liked him, until Trump’s candidacy forced him in a last ditch effort to announce his support for Hillary.
