Better than that..I am here, in the middle of it. Just level with the dam so no danger with my property. Briefing tonight. letting out 100K cfs and will continue to do so to lower the level 50 ft. At this time of year they do release 100K cfs for flood control. Channel can handle 150K cfs which they did back in 1997 (I remember that year)
Water level is now lower than the emergency spillway. So only water going out is through primary (and damaged) spillway.
We have another Huge storm due to hit on Wednesday, thus the need to lower the lake level.
When can people come back? Hopefully tomorrow but no clear answer. About 35K evacuated from Oroville, 76K from Marysville area.
Evidently the stories of looting were fake news. Some dipwad decided to break into a store around the same time the evacuation order went out, so technically not considered looting. Semantics...
