A British woman who has travelled to Syria to fight so-called Islamic State has said she is willing to die in the battle against the militant group. (snip)
For Kimmie Taylor, joining the Kurdish women is about much more than picking up a gun.
She sees the YPJ female fighters as a beacon of hope for the world.
Strong female comrades, battling for freedom, democracy, and equality, in the midst of a terribly troubled region where women have been raped, kidnapped and held as sex slaves.
It is easy to see how one can be inspired. This is a revolution, she tells me.
As I interviewed her, she spoke in Kurdish to her comrades. She has clearly earned their trust and respect.
She is now trying to shine a spotlight on their struggle.
Ms Taylor, who is also known as Kimmie and by the name Zilan Dilmar, said she went the front line with the YPJ in October.
Like their male counterparts in the affiliated YPG, the YPJ has women who fight on the front line.
"The [women] are young, 18, 19, 20, they're taking on this power which seems uncontrollable," she said.
Although willing to risk her life for the cause, she said: "I don't want to die. I have too much work to do."
"It's a necessary thing," she added. "This is for the freedom of all people and this is for humanity."

In a previous era, Christian or simply “liberal” Americans would be organizing themselves with money or even manpower to aid this oppressed Christian minority facing these rabid dogs of Islam
Why doesn’t the MSM cover this brave American?
Oh, sorry, I thought she was from the US, not UK. Ooops!

Another British hero if folks didn’t see the story; was Ryan Lock. He shot himself to avoid being captured by ISIS. I’m glad that is a decision I would never have to make.
But if one joins the Kurds, I thought some of them are Muslims too; distinctly different than the Assyrians who are Christians. Of course, the Kurds and Assyrians are loosely allies.
As bad as ISIS is, the persecution of Christians per most stories really excelled in 2003; after the Iraq invasion.
In general, Christians are always persecuted in places like this.
I hope the Kurds/Assyrians can get their own land.
Hadn’t seen that story about Ryan Lock and what an awful decision he had to make but I totally understand why he did it. RIP Ryan.
There needs to be another Crusade. Unfortunately the current pope wouldn’t dare suggest anything even remotely insinuating that islam might pose the slightest danger to humanity.
The Kurds are mostly Muslim.
She gets the spotlight, because she is far left - took part in the occupy movement before shipping out for the revolution.
She is apparently with the forces now moving on the ISIS “Capital” of Raqqa - where the action is, but it seems that she now plays more of a media role. Even so, you can’t really get far from the front, and attacks are fluid.
From her earlier reports, she spent time within small arms distance, but no reports of her pulling triggers. My advice to her is to keep it to herself if she does - it might be used against her later.
Death to ISIS. Biji Rojava!
Pope is on their side. You’d have to mobilize the Christians.
The pope is on whose side?
Globalists, Islam, one world government etc. Take your pick.
