From a CBS story on the case -
The crime of Illegal Voting is a Second Degree Felony, punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison.
Sounds like she simply got the middle of the range...:^)
then there is no standing in an appeal.
Texas needs to prosecute a few more cases like this, then announce a deal for anyone that has voted illegally.
Turn yourself in, and you get deported. If you don’t do so and we catch you, you go to jail.
“... she voted Republican, including for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton...”
The real reason she was prosecuted.?
A legally constituted jury did not believe the BS story presented by the woman and her attorney, why should anybody else, unless you are suffering from hyper-massive empathy overload (but of course I guess that includes all lefties).
Stopped reading riiiiiight about there.
Is that sarcasm?
Sarcasm much?
Since she registered, she lied on the registration form, which either required proof of citizenship or the swearing of an oath that the applicant is a citizen.
She either provided fake documents or swore falsely (perjury).
No, sir, I am serious about that.
“Turn yourself in, and you get deported. If you dont do so and we catch you, you go to jail.”
What the illegals will do now, possibly, is register to vote “en masse” in order to change the government and get rid of enforcement.
The mindset of illegals with respect to rules is to ignore them. Immigration, voting, ID fraud, drinking and driving...they simply don’t care. And if we try to enforce the rules, they will respond with even more of the same.
At least...that is my experience.
“President Donald Trumps widely debunked claims of election rigging”
Debunked by whom? Another fake news media lie.
The only way to debunk Trump’s claim would be to do a full purge of the voter rolls, strict enforcement of voter ID, and some kind of election audit.
