The left is destroying itself by alienating the middle, while the Trumpians keep gaining numbers and popularity.

Civil war is extremely unlikely.

Trump is doing exactly what the people (the voters) who put him in power expect him to do.

In the 2018 mid term elections, the Republicans will gain in the House and Senate.

As I have recounted a few times here, I have seen this unfold before.

Tens of thousands protesting Gov. Scott Walker in the streets and in the Capitol for months. This fervor led them to gain over 1 million voter age signatures on a recall petition — in a state with a population of 5.5 million. The result? The average normal person was repulsed by the antics and obnoxiousness of these leftists and of course Walker survived the recall and went on to be reelected with Republican majorities in both chambers, along with the state voting for Trump.

My advice contours with that of the author’s. Let the left hang themselves in the public square. Keep your powder dry. Be the reasonable (normal) adult. Even the Democrats are starting to get nervous about all the overt agitation, although I really don’t think they have all that much control over the Bernie bros.

So yeah, America is being tested, but handled right my hope is that the left can - finally - be annihilated.

“Civil war is extremely unlikely.”

I disagree. The progs are getting desperate, and they are already unhinged. I think they are only a couple cups of Starbucks shy of seriously letting loose, at which time we can “join the battle.” I actually think a major social upheaval is now inevitable — even if it does not escalate into CW. It will be short-lived, though.

My concern is that I am hearing from people without strong leanings, who should be open to supporting Trump, but are totally put off by his sometimes intemperate and childish tweets. He really needs to dial it back and focus on core issues. What worked in a campaign does not necessarily work in governing.

I agree.
truth be told, anyone who voted for Trump is not suddenly going to vote for leftist ideology.

The problem is the millennials and the university snowflakes. Their votes are equal to ours.
