It is a pretty good article. The information about the history of the 60’s and 70’s is great.
But much of what he states is simply overstated, particularily about the institutions of the left.
Most of the support for the left comes from the media. The media just went all out to nominate, then defeat Trump.
They could not get it done. They are a waning power. If the media becomes fragmented and essentially neutral, as appears to be happening, most of the power of the left is gone. Just gone.
In all of his examples, the leftist violent groups were eventually destroyed. It is much easier to do that now. The digital trails left by everyone now make it nearly impossible to operate in groups without being discovered. The problem of informants is every bit as bad for the left as for the right, may be more so.
A key tell will be what happens now that one of the attackers in the Berkley riot has been identified (from digital media). He is being investigated by the FBI. We will see if conspiracy charges are leveled at others in his “Black block”.
The left owned the media from about 1960-65 on. It was the key to their victory. They no longer have that power, and all the left has grown up accustomed to having it and relying on it.

I see quite a bit of that happening. The Right has an advantage here. They have been fighting forever in the battle of ideas. The left really has not had to fight. Everything they put forward has been given to them on a platter. Faced with a fight on ideas, most of them are poor fighters.
In a big city, cut off the electricity and in about 4 days What happens? A lot. All bad.
Very true. But who is going to do it, and who does it help or hurt politically?
If seen as an act of terror by the Right, it helps the Left.

If done to one city, the effects are minimized.
It is not certain that this tactic wins a Civil war.

Your point on the Chinese is very valid. Since I live in AZ, and have talked with border patrol members, they indicate that there are MANY caught crossing that border illegally that are NOT Mexican.
Most are Asian or Mid Eastern. Or Chinese and Arab if you will.

In a civil war, electricity, public transportation, civil order, food supplies, and sanitary services are among the first thing to go. People in the rural areas can tough it out. People in the big cities are going to have it rough. The longer it lasts, the more house cats, pigeons, and rats will be eaten. It depends on the level of conflict and who controls the armed forces.
Modern cities are very vulnerable. But with a military actively engaged to protect them, they can maintain services.
All the predicates to a Civil war are important to what actually happens.
If Conservatives control the Military and the left rebels in the cities, we win.
If Liberals become in charge of the military, and the rural areas rebel, Conservatives likely lose.
If the military splits, everyone loses, but Conservatives might come out on top.

A lot of people thought that communism was dead when the Soviet Union went belly up, well there are still lots of communists out there in the world, still a lot of communist totalitarian governments who are pushing the party line.

That's a valid concern. Back in the mid-1960s I witnessed black mobs going after innocent white victims in the city. It wasn't pretty. While sitting in my car I saw a mob lift a concrete garbage receptacle and drop it on a couple from behind. Saw them running through the street chasing down a guy and giving him a beatdown. During those times, I got beatup by groups of four, but luckily not by a mob. Don't get caught by a mob is the lesson. Unless you have grenades or other weapons that can inflict mass casualties, which is not likely for most of us.
Mobs generally run from gunfire, in the U.S., anyway.
I am not saying it is 100% effective, but most U.S. mobs do not seem highly motivated.
We The People, the voters, placed Trump in the White House. It remains to be seen if that is a seat of power.

Everyone needs to keep their powder dry, and the police need to do their job. Blocking roads, assault, and riots are not to be tolerated. Arrests should be made. Nip it in the bud.
If these groups keep on, the police don’t act effectively, and wide spread violence occurs, at some point, martial law may need to be declared in some of these places.
Reagan called out the National Guard to restore order to Berkley. What is key is that the power was used and then when order was restored, things went back to normal.
These groups are the ones employing facism.
