As Chaffetz wrapped up the town hall, he was met with a crescendo of boos. He refused to take questions from reporters. The Salt Lake Tribune in the heavily Mormon city said the meeting was “stacked” with “liberal resistance” groups. Utah went for Trump in the presidential election, 45 percent to Hillary Clinton’s 27 percent (with 21 percent going to Mormon independent Evan McMullen), but Salt Lake County and neighboring Summit County voted for Clinton.

Video at link including video from outside. They are chanting one of their standard leftist protest chants. It's trending on Twitter with leftists patting themselves on the back thinking they will take over Chaffetz seat. This was obviously coordinated. Some liberal groups got this in motion. I looked at the election results, and Chaffetz beat the Democrat and garnered 73% of the vote. That means his district has got to be pretty conservative. I wonder if the people who showed up today at the town hall were even all from his district. Of course this makes it look like the majority of the people in his district are angry, but the truth of the matter is, I doubt any Republicans showed up because there just isn't a lot of concerns right now considering we have all three branches.

Now I don't believe we should completely write these protests off. It would be a fool's errand. The left is trying to use the tea party strategy, and they are highly motivated. That means we can't get complacent.

Just pretend they’re the Tea Party: call them racists, laugh and ignore them.

The DemocRAT infestation won’t go away with one election victory. It will take decades of perseverance and activism.

We need to be scouting our next set of Reagans and Trumps to fill the House, Judiciary, and locales.

The rent-a-mob in action. This is totally astroturf.

They have said this is what they would do. Forget doing any more townhalls - don’t give them a propaganda platform.

Or if you do make sure there’s going to be a lot more supporters than the paid mob.

How did Trump keep all the paid commies out of his rallies?

I’m guessing that pretty much none of them voted for Trump or Chaffetz in the first place so sorry not sorry.

The left is trying to recreate the teaparty with paid protesters.

Two points.

1. Where are the conservative to provide him cover. Why did none show up.

2. The libs are now going after GOP members, seeing them as the way to bring down Trump.

Point one puts point two in check.

The Ctrl-Left is going to pay welfare bums to pack town halls this year. Real Americans have to get there earlier.

Also happened at Sensenbrenner (Wisconsin) meeting yesterday. Usually this venue is very lightly attended and a bunch of Act 10 Madison area “concerned citizens” showed up and took up all time with multi part hostile statement questions. Sensenbrenner basically threw Trump under the bus and this in itself was very annoying. Also recorded by an AP “ reporter” who has previous experience at the Progressive and Politifact

This is where the Republicans fall short and eventually lose any ground they have gained! They should have stacked that town hall meeting with their REC and all peeps in their Republican clubs. They should be getting an email chain going and attend EVERY damned meeting that goes on.
We have a group in my county that is on an automatic text message chain. It’s a call that goes out every time a lib protest is staged. The Calvary shows up to counter protest. Had one last week at Representative Ron DeSantis’ office. Libs were in full force so the Calvalry showed up!
Not a time to be complicit.

A very long time, consider Issa, Gowdy, ... and now Chaffetz.

Nothing accomplished - NOTHING!

EDITOR’S NOTE: Thursday’s event is available to watch here.

In advance of Rep. Jason Chaffetz’s town hall meeting Thursday night, the Salt Lake County Republican Party urged “the REAL majority of Utah voters” to attend after organizers switched the venue to accommodate an anticipated large showing from liberal resistance groups.

The meeting, set to start at 7 p.m., will be held in an auditorium at Brighton High School, 2220 E. Bengal Blvd., in Cottonwood Heights. It was previously slated for City Hall across the street, but the expected attendance — with more than 1,200 people RSVP’d on a Facebook page for the event and nearly 3,000 more “interested” in going — exceeded the space’s capacity. http://www.sltrib.com/news/4918867-155/chaffetz-town-hall-meeting-in-utah

Might just be home-grown. SLC has a Gay mayor, and there are plenty of lefties on the Wasatch Front.
