Liberal groups sued President Trump on Wednesday over his "two-for-one" executive order issued last week that requires agencies to kill two existing regulations for every new rule they want to institute.
The environmental and advocacy groups the Natural Resources Defense Council, Communication Workers of America and Public Citizen argue that the Trump order is unconstitutional, "irrational" and seeks to scuttle programs meant to protect the public.
"President Trump's order would deny Americans the basic protections they rightly expect," said Rhea Suh, president of the Natural Resources Defense Council. "New efforts to stop pollution don't automatically make old ones unnecessary."
Suh poked at Trump's lack of seriousness in addressing policy, saying "when you make policy by tweet, it yields irrational rules."

"General Quarters, Battle Stations".
Gosh, did they take it to that hack Robart?
Yep, ‘Rats still own the Judiciary. It’s their last hope and weapon.
Ok folks, so see what I mean?
Trump blinked, listened to the mouse that roared in Seattle.
Now, we’re in a bad situation, really bad.
This demonstrates the problem which “liberals” have with elections.
They only accept the results when their side wins.
So, they hope a court will step in and micromanage every deregulation decision?
Why have any other organ of government than courts?
The federal courts essentially became a super-legislative body after 1865. It’s time for Congress to once again bring the federal courts back down to a co-equal branch of government. Jurisdiction stripping is a start. Remember, all powers of the lower federal courts flow from Article I of the Constitution.
...and seeks to scuttle programs meant to protect the public.
After all, how “good” these programs are is a matter of personal opinion. Courts can’t rule on that.
Now, were in a bad situation, really bad.
It’s like letting a child make the wrong decision, but before it has “serious” consequences, watch to see if he corrects his actions and learns from it, rather than you just telling him.
The courts are the child in this case. Trump has just chosen not to wield his full power - yet.
Even the Scotus has its hacks.
Soros’ evil ways...
First, the legislature, then the executive, and last, the courts.
If they lose consistently at the ballot box, they fall back on the most deeply entrenched defenses in the judiciary.
This is in part why the country moves ever leftwards: we can win at the ballot box and every change an election should bring is undone or thwarted by the courts.
I was listening to part of the questioning on the immigrant ban yesterday, and it seemed quite clear to me that the judges seem to think that their constitutional role is to impose elite opinion about political policies regardless of what the Constitution or the law say.
We are likely to wind up in a situation where every policy change made by Trump is undone by the courts, where an elite cabal (like "Natural Resources Defense Fund") works to craft judicial orders effectively stripping the elected branches of any control over the Federal bureaucracy.
We will wind up with leftist groups effectively controlling Customs and Border Protection, the Department of Education, the EPA, the Interior Department, and parts of the Justice Department through consent decrees.
Acting through the judiciary, they will determine policies as though we never had Republican majorities in Congress and as though Trump never won the election.
In 1993, President Clinton delegated to Vice President Gore the task of “reinventing government,” and part of this entailed reducing regulations. I don’t remember liberal groups complaining about it at the time. During the performance review “...Agencies identified $28 billion a year in reduced regulatory burdens and proposed eliminating 16,000 pages of regulations.”
The Ninth Circus Clowns should be wary.
Then we are at a dangerous cross-roads. Will the citizens allow this to happen. That is the question.
Maybe we need another policy such that for every dollar the gov spends defending against these suits, ten dollars is cut from social spending.
As of March 1998, the fifth anniversary of the creation of National Performance Review (under Clinton and Gore), Agencies eliminated about 640,000 pages of internal rules, about 16,000 pages of Federal Regulations, and were rewriting 31,000 additional pages into plain language. Again, I didn’t see any complaints from liberal groups at the time.
The communists are using leftist judges to thwart the constitution. I support trump telling them to enforce their crap but we have the military.
GET GEORGE SOROS and much of this nonsense stops.
