Trump Slams Courts By Reading Federal Law on Illegal Aliens

Speaking to a conference crowd of local law enforcement officers and leaders in Washington Wednesday, President Trump slammed the courts for what he perceives as lawyering of straight forward immigration law the White House is using to justify his recent travel ban.

Standing at the lectern, Trump read aloud title eight, chapter 12 of U.S. Code which states: "Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or non-immigrants, or impose on entry of aliens any restrictions may deem to be appropriate."

So, inevitably, we have a meeting coming with the rock and the hard place.

I’m so incredibly F’n sick of conservatives getting caught up in intellectual arguments with the left. That plays directly into the hands of the left....they know they are wrong....they just lie. Like global warming...they laugh their asses off when we debate them, because we miss the point.

The left is trying to build a society WITHOUT us. They just need the means to get rid of us.

For Trump and the rest of us to try and argue this on the merits, is only a waste of time and energy. Like the left, we just say that “we have the ball”, and possession is 9/10ths the law.

Let them scream until they are blue in the face, then ....change to our next item on the agenda.

For example, the “Wall”. They can sue environmentally all they want, just keep building, and send troops down there to “keep the peace”.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way!

I know. I feel the same way. But, as I’ve told myself time and time again, he has a very smart brain and I’m sure he knows what he’s doing. There is no way he would allow them to usurp this and just go, ok whatever. He had to have known he would be facing the judiciary at some point. As someone pointed out, there are myriad ways to change the wording and accomplish the task. He’s leaving it dangle out there, probably cuz he likes showing up the courts.

Trump would not be LEGITIMIZING them, he’d be asserting his executive authority just like Jackson did, the father of the Democrat party.

This stupid thing has cost us momentum, which is exactly what the left wanted. They have also slow walked his cabinet. Meanwhile Trump is fighting with Nordstroms about Ivanka’s shoe line...

I don’t want Trump to get screwed like Reagan in his first Mid Terms.

You got the ball, just take it to the end zone and stiff arm anyone in your way.

No decision tonight. Since Trump read the law for all to see, they know they have to go with Trump... but one last jab....they’re going to stall as long as they can.

Have you EVER seen such attacks on ONE MAN!!! and his daughter... they are throwing fits over every little thing. Grown men/women who don’t have the spine to do what is right.. just do what their lefty pals tell them they have to do. Follow the crowd.. real childish!!

No he should ignore the courts and follow the law.

It would be a total disaster if he did that. The MSM and the Dems would portray him as some Banana Republic dictator.

You don’t have your head screwed on right.

The court said the EO was wrong but never ruled on the law. The law then stands and Trump can refuse the court order as it never questioned the Constitutionality of the law.

The court cannot order a law to be ignored without first overturning the law.

Also, as we are seeing, the Federal Court and the 9th Circuit Court do not have any authority in this issue. Only the US Supreme Court does.

Trump doesn’t have to listen to rulings about immigration law from local traffic courts, either.

Are you a legal scholar or did you stay at a Holiday Inn? If this is so cut and dried, why is the Trump administration appealing the judge's rulings? Why did they halt the implementation of the pause for the seven countries?

You can live in your fantasy world, but Trump and the DOJ are dealing with reality.

Forgive me, I missed it when the courts got the power to dictate how laws are supposed to be selectively enforced.

Last I checked that kind of avaricious behavior is the hallmark of a banana republic.

Boo on you for going along with it.

You seem to miss the point--maybe on purpose. I provided my rationale in my post #62. I suggest you read it.

In the meantime, Trump and DOJ are honoring the ruling of the judge and appealing it to the 9th Circuit. They are not following your advice. You need to ask why? Maybe you don't know what you are talking about.

Defying a court order when that particular court has no authority to rule on a given topic and when the plaintiff has no legal standing in the first place is to stand for the rule of law.

Sorry, but I’m just not a member of the Judicial Cult that attributes supernatural qualities to people who happen to wear black robes. Whoopeedoo a judge issued a ruling.

If they create law or rule outside of the law or rule beyond their jurisdiction then they should be ignored instead of encouraging them to think they now enjoy some sort of power that was never delegated to them.

I can only hope that Trump is playing this game with an eye to having these judges removed from the bench for their obvious misconduct.

You seriously think the 4 liberal SC justices won’t support Robart and the 9th Circuit?

Absolutely, as I said: "The law is too obvious and settled in this matter and the SC justices have way to much respect for the institution to engage in such an obviously partisan attack."

So why did Trump listen to the little mouse that roared in Seattle?

President Trump issued his EO's based on Federal Law.

The liberal press, the Demonrats and the Judicials go crazy.

President Trump lets them hang themselves.

President Trump has more names for draining the swamp.

“Where are the Republican lawmakers??? Why aren’t they out in front of the cameras looks Schumer/Warren?? .......COWARDS!!!!”

Flinch & Try’n Ryan have very little experience actually fighting against the Demoncrats.....

...their well tuned skills-sets have more to do with appeasement of the extremists on the left.

I truly hope and have confidence that the little mouse that roared is going to have a big boot squish the life out of it and make a hell a mess for people to see for 100 yrs.
