Trump Slams Courts By Reading Federal Law on Illegal Aliens

Speaking to a conference crowd of local law enforcement officers and leaders in Washington Wednesday, President Trump slammed the courts for what he perceives as lawyering of straight forward immigration law the White House is using to justify his recent travel ban.

Standing at the lectern, Trump read aloud title eight, chapter 12 of U.S. Code which states: "Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or non-immigrants, or impose on entry of aliens any restrictions may deem to be appropriate."

They are not honest. But as a supporter of Madisonian views on Government, I think they are "democratic" in the sense he warned us against in Federalist Paper #10--especially in their willingness to vote people illegally in the country.

My views of the suffrage are set forth in Threat To Liberty.

So he should ignore the courts and do what he wants? No doubt, the Dems and the MSM would make it into a Constitutional crisis. Impeachment would be the mantra.

Can't worry about being impeached for the wrong reason, when you know you're right.

Remember, the Californians have threatened to block the “Wall” by legal tactics.

They will try to block everything Trump has the power to do using legal tactics.

Ignoring the court would have put confirmations in jeopardy. Everything is tied together. Dems are stalling with Sessions and Gorsucjch. Trump cannot rock boats for fear HIS people will fall out.

No. You’d have to imptison Soros’ four sons, as well. Good luck with that!

Yes, we know he is not a lawyer. Any third grader could have read and understand the piece of law that he just read, and that was his point.

“So he should ignore the courts and do what he wants?”

No he should ignore the courts and follow the law.

He should also recommend that the leftist lawbreaking judges involved be impeached by the Senate and removed from the bench.

Well we have 330 million people in the US and 95 million out of work. Truthfully we don’t need any more immigration.

He didn’t. Others backed down

What do you mean he didn't? DHS is stopping all entry from these 7 countries?

I do not think that has happened so others have not backed down in my book.

If DHS have stopped the 10,000 current VISA holders that are ready to come in as of Friday then that is GREAT.

I love that he is fighting this.

Fighting it would to ignore the Judge that clearly does not have standing and command DHS to continue to stop people from these 7 countries. That is fighting it not tweeting about it or stating what the law says. We have heard what the law says over and over.

10,000 VISA holders are approved to come here from those 7 countries as of Friday when the order came down. How many have made it into the US?

The statute he read applies to any kind of aliens, not just illegal aliens. I suspect the framers had no real concept of illegal aliens as we know them. The people from the 7 countries who are restricted by his order, are ostensibly legal entrants with visas and green cards, so the headline here is erroneous. He can restrict any kind of non-citizen from entering the country.

I’m also happy he’s slamming Big Media.

NO Republican has had the balls to do what Trump has done, and the screams of agony from the hate-filled intolerant left are so sweet.

Others backed down.
Trump isn’t the squishes at DHS now, is he?
Or perhaps you think he works all those posts himself?

Point taken and “touché”.

Let me be clear: you make a great point about all the power we give to the media and the courts to dictate our next moves. Absolutely, we shouldn’t, I agree.

Yet at the same time I’m only stating the reality of the situation. I’m approaching this from a pragmatic point of view in other words.

If these black-robes rule against POTUS Trump, then he should go Adndy Jackson on them and tell the court: “you have made your decision; now try try to enforce it!”
