I don't know what to make of this. Bloomberg is, of course, bumping along on the Lefty Nutmobile. But these jobless are largely uneducated, on drugs, semi-literate, and felons. Some come to job interviews on drugs and, gasp! Fail the drug test. I do identify with the older guys who are told they are "too old" for a job.

didn’t take long for Bloomberg to find them after Obama was out of office

Yep. Now that Obama is out of office and the Trump staff is still disinfecting the White House - it’s now OK to honestly address the unemployment problems.

Which are Trump’s fault, right?

Why are we hearing this now? Where were they in 2009 with ‘shovel ready jobs’???

Oh I see, lets bring this out and try to blame it on President Trump...don’t even try to go there if you want a paycheck!!!

I do identify with the older guys who are told they are "too old" for a job.

Being in IT for almost 20 years, I fear this and don't want to get laid off until retirement. But it's not within my control.

My only saving grace is I have 15 years experience in retail hardware, including management and customer service. Home Depot or Lowe's would be my first stops...if i HAD to get a job. I could teach the young whipper-snappers a thing or three.

working part-time when they’d prefer more hours

Does Bloomberg blame Obamacare's 30-hour work week limit for this?

I’d have to look again, but a few weeks ago I was looking at something else and ran into these numbers.

I don’t think we were anywhere near 15 million new jobs since 2010.

I think they could have come up with a better group of people than this for an article about long-term unemployment.

Maybe not. Maybe the real problem is something that I am hearing from a number of employers: that many people are unemployed because they are unemployable.

This has been the “face” of unemployment since Obamacare came into full force.

15.8 million jobs added since 2010? That just makes my head spin. What are they, 2 hours a day and each day counts as a new job?

Why have ‘disability’ payments gone up? I doubt our jobs have gotten more dangerous. Is it being used as an alternate ‘unemployment insurance?’ Are there more lawyers abetting the increase?

70,000 factories closed since 2000. A $800B trade deficit. There is your “face of unemployment”.

Obama devastated many counties in WV. Certain counties depended on coal mining and all the other business in the area need the men mining.

People give up...

Look at the suicide rate among white men... it's high. Same with new drug addiction... it's hitting the working and middle class.

Maybe we should all kill ourselves so companies can bring in cheap labor to destroy our hopes and jobs. That just might be the goal of white liberal elites... turn the country into the land of poor blacks and browns who prop up ‘elites’ so elites can buy 2 more yachts each.

I do identify with the older guys who are told they are "too old" for a job.

I've got a few siblings with that problem. They've been edged out of the workforce by young people and immigrants.

One brother spent his career as a master plumber. He got so hard up for work a couple years back, that he wound up signing on as a live-in handyman at an apartment complex.

One of my sisters finally threw up her hands and started driving for Uber. Aonother sister is living with our aged dad while she tries to stabilize some kind of livelihood for herself.

If it weren't for the fact that I've owned a business for twenty years, I'd probably be sweating the same situation.

From where I live and travel....observations

Blacks don’t work much except old school good daddy blacks and black teen girls at fast food or curvy baby mamas who work often for the state

The rest milk the system per kid etc as it’s been 50 years now

Whites have a grand ergot like malaise in the lower third. They too milk the system...disability at 35....all the other crap...they usually exploit Tenn Care or whatever program to get monthly doctor visits for pain or anxiety meds which they then sell most of...whites who have less than 50,000 household income rarely marry anymore...it’s the black model and many of these Chinese eyes level obesity women have mixed race kids by the bucketload

There are two americas now and I’ve seen it everywhere from Medford to Maine and Petosky to Pensacola

The Deep South areas with large black populations appear to have it less die to the reality check they live in 24/7

White America is so trashy.....it’s amazing

Asians or Orientals ....mostly ok....the low ones have issues and the high ones not so much

Latinos....aside from urban crime and illegals crime and drunk four foot tall Sonoran modern day Mescaleros carving one another up on weekends are not much trouble

Aside from leering at women and urban gang crap

That’s how it looks from here
