Yeah, there are some pro-secesh folks who are going to go NYAH NYAH NYAH regardless of what is said. There is no legal or Constitutional basis for secession and absent the Federal government and the states agreeing to a state seceding as an overt political decision, it isn’t going to happen.

Although I do suspect that if California were to seek to secede, the current Federal government might be willing to oblige. On it’s terms of course. I just don’t think that in the end California is going to seek to end it’s parasite-host relationship and go it alone.

The pro secesh folks also like to ignore the real world concept of might making right. They don’t explain how secession works when the Federal government says NO and that same Federal government controls the armed forces.

State the article and section of the US Constitution that codifies secession.

You can't because it doesn't exist. So stop it. You are embarrassing Free Republic.

Look, it is ok to argue against secession, but YOU CANNOT DO IT ON CONSTITUTIONAL GROUNDS.
