EXACTLY - “would be victim” is not something he was aspiring to be.
Another common sleight of hand, armed robbers when shot, will be called “victims”; e.g. “The victim was taken to the hospital”. No, they are the perpetrator.
Nice. But how about being proactive and starting a “Go Fund Me” page to raise funds for his legal defense before BLM, SJW and the media demand prosecution for murder and a hate crime.
Just a thought.
East St Louis wasnt safe at night 5+ decades ago.
One can only imagine what it is like now.
...
This incident occurred at 10 in the morning, so maybe that gives an idea.
The St Louis Post Disgrace is a liberal anti gun rag.

Our thugs don’t wake up until about 1 pm.

“A man’s gotta know his limitations”
It may not be over yet. I would not be surprised if the families have the gall to sue the veteran.
“East St Louis wasnt safe at night 5+ decades ago.”OK, BUT-—longer than that ago it was called an ALL AMERICAN CITY by an administration run by some brothers named KENNEDY ...
“Devil looked at Brady, looking mighty curious.
Devil say: ‘Where you from?’
Brady say: ‘East St. Louis.’”
Yep. Probably will.
Google Map the address. It is on the Illinois side so yes. But “drive” around that area on Street View. It looks rough very rough.
Thanks. A lot different than the huge city riots I remember in the mid sixties, then.
Yeppers!
Venice, Eminence Township, MO, about 55 miles Southwest of St. Louis. Significantly Rural, the good people.
The article states "The Illinois State Police helped the Venice Police Department with the investigation."
Venice, MO? Somebody better tell the Illinois State Police. No, it occurred in Venice, IL in Madison County, a town about 4 miles from East St. Louis.
Reading comprehension may be a factor
She lives there? Maybe I missed it...same race as the thugs?
“Why does there always seem to be attempted or other adjectives or modifiers appended to what should simply be a simple statement of the facts.”
It wasn’t an armed robbery because they didn’t get anything. Sure they tried, but never accomplished the correct goal. The only other possible thing you could call it was being stupid and becoming a target. Nothing of value changed hands except lead. So they can be called claim jumpers I guess. Federal offense.

You are looking at the result of AP rules, I believe.
They came to the conclusion that if the criminal has not yet been convicted, it is wrong to call them a criminal.
Until convicted, they are a suspect.
An early form of political correctness, it is because of the uncertainty of early reports.
