This what the left does when Republicans are in power. They run to the black robes. If Trump refuses to enforce, they hold him in contempt.

When liberals are in power, they can EO us to death with the aid of the courts. Even if a judge temporarily stops them, the libs laugh, the media refuses to cover it, and the original order stands, or the stay is overturned immediately on appeal.

The judiciary is the liberal star chamber. They haven’t had to use them in a while. Now they will.

This was the “go-ahead” signal for the terrorists to travel to the United States and get into position this weekend!

Got to laugh at these liberal attorneys saying “no one is above the law” while they protect illegal aliens who are lawless. Sanctuary cities are against the law. The president has the written law on his side here.

Exactly. I’m sure this attorney will be fighting for their unlawful, illegal ‘rights’.

Can someone familiar with the legal intricacies of these directives give some guidance to the rest of us? How is it that a federal judge thinks they have the authority to override the president? Is there any real standing here? Or is it just grandstanding?

We’ve heard a lot about judges overstepping in the past week but it would be nice to hear some definitive guidance on how these things actually play out.

I thought the Constitution only applied to citizens. Did I miss something?

Summarizing comments/analysis from various sources:

Harm and standing accrue to the State of Washington because some immigrants are employed there or by companies located there (e.g. Amazon, Microsoft), whereas others have family members there. These grievances provide reasons for constitutional protection due to various clauses. Secondly, the Judge broadly interpreted the language of the EO, and bowing to the plaintiffs, attributed anti-Muslim sentiment to Trump based on his campaign rhetoric, thereby ruling this order unconstitutional.

Yeah, and I heard O’Reilley last week say that it was settled law that anyone on US soil had constitutional rights. I couldn’t believe he said that. I have always heard that the constitution only applied to citizens. BOR is wrong. But, as the past 8 years has taught us, you can find a judge to agree with just about anything.

Eliminate the judge’s seat. Simple majority only. No super majority needed like impeachment requires. Congress MUST discipline the federal courts or the people ultimately will and it won’t be pretty.

this judge has no jurisdiction outside of the usa. thus a consolate or embassy need not follow his orders.

Didn’t a judge in NY stay it and then refuse to continue the stay? The left is judge shopping.

Exactly. I’m so disappointed in President Bush in retrospect. I wished/prayed for so long for a fearless, courageous Republican POTUS. I was starting to believe there would never again be a President that I would love and respect like Ronald Reagan. I never would have expected Donald Trump to be that great President I was waiting for—but he is! God likes to surprise us sometimes. :0)

What a POS. The enemedia is obsessing over this to no end. So some terrorists can’t enter the US, that’s so sad.

The enemedia doesn’t care a whit about what really matters to Americans like 0-care mandates, the exportation of jobs, and the overgrowth of government.

Anyone who trusts the enemedia us a zombie or moron.
