Disney CEO Bob Iger Refuses to Attend Business Executive Forum at White House

Disney CEO Bob Iger, one of the few entertainment industry executives asked to attend President Donald Trump’s policy forum at the White House this week, has refused the invitation.

In December, President Trump described the policy forum being held at the White House as a meeting of “CEOs and business leaders who know what it takes to create jobs and drive economic growth.” The event was organised by Blackstone chairman Stephen A. Schwarzman and Bob Iger was considered one of the more high profile attendees but a source has told The Hollywood Reporter that Iger will not be there.

Many executives from large companies are still scheduled to attend such as SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon and General Motors CEO Mary Barra. Travis Kalanick of Uber has been attempting to calm recent anger from Uber users over what was perceived as the company’s refusal to participate in an hour long strike organised by New York taxi drivers to protest President Trump’s temporary travel halt.

I will not be attending your park either even though we live within 30 minutes.

Good riddance to Iger.

Reading has obviously become obsolete. Thus, The Stupid is growing deeper on this website.....

UPDATE: A Disney representative emails to clarify that Iger was unable to attend the policy forum because the White House changed its date from Thursday, February 2nd, to Friday, February 3rd. A Disney Board of Directors meeting had been scheduled for the 3rd long before the forum’s organization. The email states that Iger is still a member of the forum’s committee.

A couple of years ago, here was a serious Measles breakout in Los Angeles area.

Turned out that ‘Patient Zero’ was an illegal invader working at one of the Disney restaurants.

Thousands of lost school hours for the students that got & spread the disease.

DISNEY-—hiring an illegal-—but then, So Calif is the hotbed of forged identification of all kinds.

No need to be defensive. I saw the original story on fox business, so figured the worst. Makes sense; Disney’s a mess. Also the Uber guy bailed.

Anyway, why you gotta bust our chops? We’re your friends.

Relax.

Having had business dealings with Disney I would never patronize their facilities - they are tyrants.

Did you ever think that the update was added after I posted the story? It was. Blame Breitbart, not me. I read what was there before I posted.

Ugh, I received some bad news: Looks like Bob Iger may be pursuing extending his contract the third time in a row. Honestly, why can’t he just do us ALL a favor and leave Disney?!

BTW, apparently Iger is part of the advisory committee right now. Don’t think he’s actually agreeing with Trump’s policies despite what his more leftist shareholders claim, though: He’s only trying to channel Gramsci’s march through the institution with Trump’s policy plans, as his quote from Hamiltons reveals.
