What!? Luther Strange cannot hold a candle to Jeff Sessions! Luther Strange is a tyrant.

Aderholt or Strange would be good - either of them would be fine. Outstanding compared to most of the RINOs in the Senate.

I've met Del Marsh, and I am 90% sure he is GOPe, due to the adecdote that he refused to take action on Common Core.

But then, there may have been some other circumstances of which I am unaware.

Seriously? I thought he was doing a good job. At least in comparison to prior AGs. And next to Sessions. I get his emails. He seems to be on the right side of the issues.

I am curious as to what he has done that makes you think he is a tyrant?

Why isn’t US Congressman Gary Palmer on the list? Wouldn’t he be most like Sessions. He voted against the despicable RINO Boehner, which is a MAJOR plus in my book.

I know Martha Roby is my cousin and she is a #Never Trumper so I am glad she cook her goose and lost a chance of a Senate Seat

Strange is the AG investigating Bentley. If Strange is appointed, Bentley gets to replace him. Looks bad for both.

Palmer is real cool to Trump. Palmer is a mega Paul Ryan fan.

Robert Aderholt is my Representative & a staunch conservative. He would make an excellent choice.

Judge Roy Moore is my pick.

***************

Judge Moore will 70 years old in 9 days. Why not pick someone younger that may
can be there for much longer. That assumes the pick is solid conservative.

The governor should call President Trump and who he would prefer. Democraps would go ballistic.

Gov. Bentley supported Kasich during the primary, and he's at odds with the state Republican leadership (who want to impeach him over his affair with a staffer). He's not going to consult the President, and the chance that he appoints a RINO is very real. He certainly was not going to pick Judge Moore - a move that would cause even more libtard heads to explode. Robert Aderholt would be a good choice. He was my rep when I lived in north Alabama. Good, humble Christian man.

That is the speculation. Gets Bentley off the hook.

Disagree. Palmer is an acquaintance of mine, and we have close mutual friendships and connections. I can assure you that he has warmed to Trump. He is a member of the Freedom caucus. While he is very new to DC as a rep, he has ran the Alabama Policy Institute for years as a conservative lobbyist. You cannot get more conservative than the API in our state.

That said, my top choice would have been for Rep. Mo Brooks. However, out of the 6 it sounds like Aderholt is the one to be promoted. I appreciate all the input here from others around the state.

Unfortunately, all of this speculation assumes that the Governor is a solid Conservative. Here’s a hint: he endorsed John Kasich for President.

Right now, I’d just hope for the weakest of the 6 (probably one of Byard, Hooper, and Rose) to get the post while we wait for Bradley Byrne and Mo Brooks to slug it out during the next election cycle (I want Brooks).

I’m not in Alabama and haven’t looked them up to check this aspect of their beliefs. Sorry I couldn’t be of any help.

Thank you. Brooks would also be a good choice. I don’t know enough about Palmer to comment, though I’ve heard good things.
