After a day of delays, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has been approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee in a vote of 11-9 to be the next attorney general. Following the party line vote, he will go to the Senate floor for confirmation.

We’ve faced the GOPe for decades and called them on the carpet constantly.
Now we are supposed to watch as they let the Democrats stall for weeks at a time?
NOT GONNA HAPPEN!
Panic and hysteria are not positive features. Nothing is out of order and all the nominees will be confirmed except perhaps DeVos.
You keep ignoring the difference between this and confirmations of Hussein’s picks.
We will have three cabinet positions filled this week. Things are progressing well.

Woohoo.
You really are lost in space there.
None of what you have said addresses my point, that we had approved more of Obama’s appointments in two days than have been approved for Trump at 12 days.
Why don’t you put on your big-boy pants and get with the program.
What I am saying is true, and there’s no reason for you to take me to task when it’s Mitch McConnell.
McConnell has been indefensible for decades.
Actually, things have not been going well. The Republicans are the ones in the majority. They, in the form of Mitch Mc Connell, not Chuck Schumer should be the ones calling the shots. Sessions should have already been confirmed. McConnell is allowing Schumer to jerk him around more than a five mile long freight train switching cars. Instead of McConnell leading, he has to have Donald light a fire under him. DoughtyOne is correct. We need leadership. Of Course we have needed it for the last 8 years at least. And if you can’t see that, glasses won’t do you any good. You need a seeing eye dog.
Thanks Sport.
I realize the Democrats are causing problems, but a strong leader can stop that nonsense > IMO.
You seem to lean in that direction and I appreciate that you do.
Good Lord, Upchuck is not “calling the shots”. He is doing a good job of making himself look like an idiot.
There is no role for the Executive to direct or control the Legislative branch. There is a Separation of Powers you realize.
Things are going very well. Some people can’t even recognize Winning and confuse it with losing.
Amen! Mitch McConnell has been called many things. A strong leader is not one of them. In my opinion the fact that President Trump had to build a fire under him and tell him to get his butt in gear is a crying shame.

“None of what you have said addresses my point, that we had approved more of Obamas appointments in two days than have been approved for Trump at 12 days.” That is a pointless point. Let me repeat, the GOP did not oppose Hussein’s appointments some of which were virtually unanimous. The Democrats are scratching and clawing and doing as much obstruction as they can. You think ANY of Trump’s nominees will even get ten Democrat votes, much less unanimity.
Huge difference which you manage to ignore.
The party has elected Mitch to be the Majority Leader so it is you who should get with the program. He is not delaying anything.
‘
Your view of the nature of the US government is not based upon the Constitution.
I agree sport. Thanks.
You are not able to conceptualize this program.
I did not say he was delaying.
I said he wasn’t doing everything he could do.
I’ll bet you don’t have any agreement with me at all that there was a GOPe problem, and there still is just below the surface, that re-emerges even now.
I agree. I think we have a person who doesn’t grasp the realization that there is a GOPe problem.
Just another POSTER BOY for TERM LIMITS!!!!
That’s my take on things as well.
I understand the thought that we all need to support the leadership. Hey, it’s a core thought. When you have folks who do not know how to lead, it’s simply not a core thing to stick to.
Mitch has needed to leave the Senate for quite some time. He’s too old, doesn’t have the energy or the know how to do what needs to be done today.
Paul Ryan is another problem.
It’s just a fact that we have two very lackluster leaders in Congress.
We must hold their feet to the fire!
Isn’t that the truth.
