Or use the nuclear option and get just 51 votes.

“Oh, here we go—nothing screams “butthurt” like a drive-by personal attack.”

Nothing screams teenager like claiming people would “learn something” from him.

Why don’t you go tell Trump just how he is screwing up for us, OK? Maybe you’ll save America from us FReeper types?

Listen, you idiot . . . I voted for Trump. Sure, he and I have some disagreements about economic policy, but he certainly is better than that witch. And better than you.

I know, that’s the reaction I get most times. When I’m one of the few FReepers here who actually work in manufacturing. Everyone wants to feel superior, I suppose . . . I say, come to Detroit and let me show you around.

“Wouldn’t you want Gorsuch to spend a year or so on the bench before you pass such judgment on your imaginary adversaries?”

Perhaps in YOUR WORLD NeverTrumpers were imaginary, but to everyone else on our side, they NEARLY COST HIM THE ELECTION, and, due to the likely millions of votes Trump lost because of them (low millions, but millions), cost him the popular vote and TOTALLY FUELED THE LEFT. And yes, they did cost Trump BIG TIME - in 2014, Republicans won every statewide race in Texas by 20-21 points - Trump won Texas by 9 points.

So sorry, I will NEVER LET our side forget just how evil those people were (and, in many cases, still are).

I think that Starbucks is working on having robot baristas!

A triple betrayal—of American customers, of Snowflake baristas, and of immigrant baristas!!!!

Just be a real populist, and get your coffee at locally-owned coffee shops!!!!

Not me, the thread. In any case, one of the dangers of taking personal attacks from thread to thread is losing context. The other guy did, and now you are number two.

Can’t wait for the next opening, and the next, and the next...

Five, over the next 4 to 8 years...(two terms for Trump)

Every Democrat up in 2018 from a state that voted for Trump, or even narrowly voted for Clinton, will be under serious pressure to switch sides.

Oh gawd...

Even more RINO liberals.

I don’t have much respect for the NeverTrumpers, either. But they are the ones you can swing to our side, if you have the heart for it. The Lefties are forever gone.

I don’t get a good “feeling” from this judge. This looks like the kind of guy who wants to fit in with the swell crowd and has never had to deal with, absorb and deflect heavy criticism from his peers or the public. He looks like someone who will cave under pressure. This isn’t a guy with the crusty, gruff, aggressive demeanor of a Scalia, Thomas or Alito. He isn’t a guy who has had to learn to not care and brush it off if he’s unpopular or disliked.

The absolute lack of any track record on abortion is a huge red flag. That sounds just like the same rationale that people like Bush, Sr. used for making their nominations. They wanted to pick someone with “unknown” or “undeclared” positions on the major issues to make it easier to get them confirmed.

With the guaranteed confirmation we have now via use of the nuclear option, we should have picked someone who had clear, open, public statements on all the major issues. There was no reason to hedge on a nominee when we have a slam dunk appointment on our hands.

Bottom line, an absolutely total lack of any evidence as to what his positions are on abortion MUST be taken to mean that he WILL vote pro-choice. It is too hard to find anyone at this level of education and status who would consider overturning Roe vs. Wade. Unless you know for sure otherwise, you must assume they will uphold Roe vs. Wade.

And now Geraldo’s praising him because he’s “not a Bork-type judge.” He’s making my point for me.

Damn, I was ready to get into a fight with you (again). I guess I hold grudges a bit longer...no matter what Trump could end up being as President, there simply was NO RATIONAL REASON to try to engineer Hillary’s victory - considering what that meant to the country (civil war, at a minimum, to start).

I prefer them gone, for good. We need new blood.

No, I refused to vote for Bush.

I knew exactly what he was.

The man crashed our economy so bad, it made folks question Capitalism.

Then for the run-on to Obama, he just plain handed it to him.

The public wasn’t going to stand by and let the party power with a majority get away with not stopping the train wreck.

Who could blame them?

Didn’t vote for McCain either.

He may get five total.

It remains to be seen. I think we’ll have Pence after him too.

Wow!

We could have an almost total lock on the court for thirty plus years.

Think of all the appointments from these two.

The Democrats will be grasping at straws.

Once Trump got the nod (I was a Cruz supporter), I became fond of referring to myself here as GOPe (because I was going to vote for Trump). I thought it was funny, but I’m not sure many got the joke. It’s what we get for living in a two-party system.

Well, for Democrats the problem is obvious, he’s a straight white man.

Lacking melatonin, doesn’t hang out in bath houses and enrtirely without a vagina.

There’s no way he can be qualified...

LOL, I’m sure that I didn’t. That term is POISON to me. But I’m glad you joined then (when Trump was nominated)...no one faults you for Cruz, as he was my guy too, until Trump announced and I started seeing how intense Trump was and what he was saying - and how he just might be able to connect to the Working Class, which he certainly did.

One of these days, if you are interested, remind me to tell you what I observed on the floor in my plant (I was a QC inspector, at the time). In Michigan. That I thought Hillary had locked-up once she got her UAW endorsement (I work in a non-union shop). It was amazing. Trump has these guys, and he should try and keep them (obviously). They are mostly Democrats.
