4 seats. I like it. My pessimism is dissipating.
That is certainly not welcome news on Hardiman’s past.
But I’m not overly concerned about him taking some pro-bono illegal aliens cases when he was in law school. When Mike Pence was a young man he did something stupid, he voted for Carter, THE SECOND TIME!!!! And he turned out fine.
All of the 3 supposed finalists have naysayers (Pryor too, and I’m not just talking about how he would be the toughest by far to confirm, some people don’t want him, I don’t know why).
This is YUGE so I understand why everything about these men is being put under a microscope. Roberts was a partial eff up by Jr. Bush, and Souter was a total boner by Senior. The chances of a Souter level mistake should be zero in this day and age but a Roberts level error isn’t.
