Canada will offer temporary residency permits to travelers who become stranded here by President Donald Trump’s order banning travelers from seven Muslim-majority nations, the immigration minister said Sunday.
Ahmed Hussen, a Somali refugee, was recently named Canada’s immigration minister. He said no one is currently stranded at the country’s airports by the ban.
“Let me assure those who may be stranded in Canada that I will use my authority as minister to provide them with temporary residency if they need it, as we have done so in the past,” Hussen said.
Hussen said White House officials have offered assurances that permanent Canadian residents can enter the U.S. if they have a valid Canadian permanent resident card and a passport from one of the countries affected. Permanent residents are the equivalent of green card holders in the United States. …

So is Canada’s position that Cubans can claim asylum or is it their position that Cuba is a paradise on earth and therefore no Cubans allowed to escape?

OK, here’s a way for all those stranded celebrities to get to Canada: Go to the Middle East or Africa first, and then try to come to the US as a refugee, no papers, they’ll send you straight to Canada. Win-win.
There was a law passed in 1952 which stated anyone from a country that wanted the overshrow of the US would not be allowed in this country. In 1965 Ted Kennedy and some of his friends passed a law countering the 1952 by allowing muslims into this country. Yes a house divided is doomed. We do have a President who knows this and is making rules to counter the muslim influx. Canada is not being our friend at this moment, by giving muslims permanent cards which allows “Canadians” to enter our country as friends of America. they are not America’s friends. I don’t care what they and the democrats say. Their “bible” tells the muslims to KILL anyone who is not a muslim.
Why are they only temporary permits. Are they racists or something? Why not take them in permanently.
That’s why I left that stupid country. I only come back there when the studios need me for location shoots and for Christmas.
Yes, I would hope they would give them all PERMANENT permission to stay in Canada. Otherwise, as you say, some might call them racists, and we all know that PC type people, would rather see the world destroyed, than be called a racist. 😊

I’m Albertan and the Canadian government isn’t our friend either. Don’t mistake the lousy leadership for how we are, most of us out west are very right wing.
The way things seem to be headed there will probably come a time when American and European Christians become the downtrodden refugees and Russia will be one of the only safe havens.

sweetiepiezer, Canada and US have always had a good border, we can criss cross it at will..........that is until the radical muslims began invading our countries. Now we have to wonder, should we protect our sides from one another or keep the radical muslims out.....but how do you tell one group of muslims from the other?
