After a fierce outcry, Homeland Secretary moves to tweak policy
Homeland Security Secretary John F. Kelly issued a blanket waiver Sunday allowing immigrants holding green cards, or entitled to permanent residence in the U.S., to enter the country, despite President Trumps new executive order.

They did not backtrack. In the executive order, they mentioned allowing people in on a case by case basis. WHICH THEY DID. 107 or so people were in transit when the order went through and once the green card holders were verified they were released other than a dozen or so. This is what Preibus stated this morning.
The media is having a gigantic burning their hair screaming at the top of their lungs moment about 107 people out of 350,000 people that come to this country on a daily basis.
They are out of their collective minds.
350,000 foreign visitors fly into the country everyday.
Agreed, nothing big here, just some tweaking. The Media is now completely 100% ‘the opposition party’. They are literally the DNC now, they are not colluding, they actually are working as the DNC. They truly believe Trump and anyone supporting him is HITLER.
So don’t believe anything you read in a headline or any mainstream stories. Even conservative blogs may reference a story without vetting it fully first.
We live in interesting times.
I don’t think kamikazis/suicide bombers and the like care about ICE. It’s usually too late.
The color of one’s card should not accord special privileges.
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
As a victim of a screw-up by an immigration official, I can attest that it is no fun being escorted by two LEOs to the holding pen for "undesirables".
Big apologies an hour later but I will never patronize that airport again.
It’s OK. This doesn’t mean green card holders can’t come under greater scrutiny and they will.
The executive order doesn’t say anything about a travel ban. It appears to indicate that no new visas etc will be issued until homeland security has determined how the applicants can be properly vetted, and new rules implemented.
The law was about vetting and new immigrants. Common sense.

Sorry, I don’t follow. There was never a suggestion of a permanent travel ban. We’re talking about the next 89 days right now.
Freep please.
Could you guys to here and give the CEO of Tripadvisor a hard time for condemning Trump’s policy?
It’s not backtracking.. it’s BRILLIANT
The level of outrage from the Left on this has been unreal. It will be interesting to watch them try to sustain this, if Trump continues with the actions I expect from his first week.
I think this is another head fake by President Trump and cabinet. What are people going to demonstrate over now? And end result is exactly the same.
For the next week or two this is going to be the story - “Trump gives in to pressure, backtracks”.
keeping adversaries off balance seems as if it could be part of a strategy of winning...(???)
When President Trump signed this order, I was surprised that it went into effect immediately and without a 48-72 hour window, where some of the ‘protest questions’ could have been anticipated and a set of instructions been issued on how/what to respond.
“The level of outrage from the Left on this has been unreal.”
As a guy on the left just said, “we’ve been bombing these countries and no one said a word.” But we ban and the left loses their minds.
Chill folks... let’s give our president some slack... he’s working the problem.
