It follows the publication of photos appearing to show a marked difference in crowd numbers between the inauguration of Barack Obama and president Trump’s swearing in on Friday.
Dismissing the images, Spicer refused to take any questions from journalists during his first formal press briefing.
“This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration period, both in person and around the globe….. These attempts to lessen the enthusiasm of the inauguration are shameful and wrong,” Spicer said.
On Saturday, more than 500,000 people marched in Washington DC to highlight women’s rights, which many fear are under threat from the new administration.
Millions also demonstrated in other US cities, and around the world, in so called ‘‘sister marches’‘.
Some 400,000 hit the streets of New York.
In response, Donald Trump took to twitter.
Highlighting the fact that there had been a recent election he said ‘‘Why didn’t these people vote.’‘

They’re the ones who attacked Trump for boasting about the size of his sex organ.

According to the Reuters photographer they were taken at the same time. It really does not matter. My take is that fewer people could leave work to attend than for Obama’s swearing in. Concentrating too much on numbers is counter productive. For example does the crowd size at the walking vagina march prove that all women support such antics? Does the large crowds we see in photos of the Nuremberg rally mean Hitler was vindicated?
Large amounts of people have supported very bad ideas and very bad leaders all through history. Often all crowd numbers show is the ability for people to be deluded by slick oratory. Using them to claim legitimacy or the lack thereto is falling into the hands of the opposition.
What matters are facts, policy, voting results, and governance. All of these are on Trump’s side.

Thanks Jay, I’m sorry, I didn’t read very far into the thread to see your link. I’m just amazed no one has pointed this out to President Trump. The evidence is certainly right there for all to see.
This is the left being it’s normal everyday disingenuous self. They promoted counter demonstrations for weeks, publicly called for blocking access to the event, actually physically blocked entrances for periods of time, sent roving bands of anarchist throughout greater DC, and then complained the crowd size was smaller than when none of these impediments existed. The size is immaterial. The leftist actions to stop and demean Trump are material.

All good points but what also matters is making sure the media is called on what they did with the proof being that tower clock’s time! Shove these things down their throats and how long before they surrender? Or is that too much to hope for? Wouldn’t we all like to see them slink off like the dogs they are with their tails between their legs?
