“Most air pollution came from cars. Four things cleaned up cars: electronic ignition, fuel injection, EGR and catalytic converters. Well the job is done”

We have gone from putting out 200+ hydrocarbons to putting out 2 and yet the EPA keeps tightening emission screws tighter. Enough is enough!

With current systems, I am not sure the catalytic converter is even still necessary.

I wouldn’t shed any tears is, say, 75% of them resigned. I have a bit of a personal grudge, I’ll admit, having worked for 15 years dealing with them as an agricultural chemist.

Slightly off topic, Trump’s team recently floated the idea of a “political” review of EPA “scientific” research. (Again, I have a grudge against EPA research, since my dad worked under contract with them and had a very important research paper spiked, because the irrefutable results violated the EPA catechism.) A political review opens too much room for criticism from the left.

Rather, eliminate all scientific research by EPA, and outsource it to universities. Then, make massive cuts in grants available to universities in certain areas of research. Squeeze hard enough, and “peer review” and research proposals might start to shape up toward conformity with the laws of thermodynamics.

I hear opening a can of paint puts out more HCL’s than a car using an entire tank of gas.

.
You appear to be missing the whole point.

Emissions that are harmful.

There is no difference in that respect between carburetors and injectors.

Autos didn’t normally emit anything harmful until the catalytic converter was added.

Now every auto emits anhydrous acids constantly.

Everything the EPA has done has in one way or another, caused significant harm to everyone.

I wonder what the chances are of DDT being legalized once again? The banning of DDT was the first major act of bogus legislation based on bogus science that has ever impacted mankind..........

Plenty of those no shows in state government.

The types of people varied some. If you were the buddy of the right management type even being a white male, it could be done.

I had to do some picking up of the slack myself. This guy had the nerve at the end of the year to whine about all of his unused vacation time.

Your picture is better than you realized.

Liberalism:create a problem then offer government as the solution.

Your picture: block the rain from hitting the soil anywhere near the tree, pay big government to water it.

Wait until these America hating snowflakes discover how little the private sector values their so-called “knowledge, skills & abilities” when they are involuntarily separated from their vastly overpaid federal positions.
*****************
I am shocked that you would question the skills , knowledge and abilities of these fine upstanding workers. They are doing God’s work defining furrows as mini-mountains and puddles as navigable waterways when they’re not unleashing millions of gallons of mine waste into peoples drinking water.. They are indispensible ,, in fact I’d say there is nobody with their skillset in the public sector... I say free them to earn the really big money working at Caterpillar or Ford Motor ... I’m sure they are needed there ...
